I love Peet’s. Their Major Dickson’s Blend is a favorite. This store isn’t. I came at opening. The store is dirty. See a picture of crumbs along the window sill. The coffee is lukewarm even at opening. Sorry. Avoid.

Overall great Peet’s: friendly & helpful staff, clean facilities, great location.
My only issue is how SLOW the service is. My *mobile order is always a cold brew (which is already made!), but I always have to wait a long time…even if there’s no one in line & I’m watching/listening to 2-3 people chitchat (while one person is making drinks). All they have to do is pour my drink so I can be on my way since they don’t have to “make” my drink! ☕️
*I tested out a theory that I should just go in & order in-store to see if someone would pour my cold brew instead of making me wait until ALL the other drinks are made. Nope. Same thing both times. 😬

Peets just isn’t what it used to be. I ordered a flat white in a ceramic cup- I got a flat white in a paper cup, I asked for a new serving in a ceramic cup, the barista (who said “well, they didn’t tell me”) dumped it into a ceramic cup and handed it back. I said, “there’s no foam on top at all”, she said, “well there’s hardly any foam in a flat white anyway.so i don’t need to make a new one.” Oh well, the New Peets!

So the last few times I’ve ordered my drink from them. Great customer service but the guy whoever is making the drinks have made them such a mess and they’re dripping all over the place and everything else and he’s not even in a hurry To make the drink, he just makes it such a mess and so disappointing and it’s sticky 😔

This Peets is very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Staff are not at all engaging and unprofessional. When ordering a beverage and upon receiving the incorrect order, the cashier blatantly lied and claimed that was the drink ordered. The cashier with short blonde dyed hair did not provide proof of the “incorrect ordering” claiming to be a mocha instead of white hot chocolate which was ordered. The white hot chocolate was CONFIRMED by the cashier when they repeated the order twice. Mocha and white hot chocolate sound entirely different. So how did you mess this up?
Additionally, the barista informed it was a white hot chocolate when handing the order over— so did you mix it up or just lie when giving the order out?
Folks making mistakes is normal. Owning up to the mistake is what makes someone a good person and employee. The blatant lying and disrespect upon asking both the cashier and barista to remake the drink correctly is to not be tolerated. Gaslighting also is not respected and when dealing with folks who are disabled, this is highly inappropriate.
Not to mention, when having to travel back nearly 20 minutes to get the corrected order, staff was not compliant or helpful. Very unfriendly to older and disabled folks. Not at all the kindness that is expected in a culturally and ethnically diverse area.
From one who has been working in the customer service industry for nearly a decade now, this disrespect should not be tolerated. Go to Philz, Cole’s Coffee or even Starbucks. There are many other and better selections in the area instead of the rude, disrespectful, and trashy workers here.

Love this place. One of my favorite Berkeley coffee shops. Always clean and many seats near power plugs. The staff is pleasant, and so are the other customers. I feel my backpack is safe at my seat while away using the bathroom or getting a refill. I also like the menu - particularly the egg white breakfast sandwich. Most Peets’ have this, and I’m always surprised at how fast and yet still tasty it is. It’s my go-to anytime I missed breakfast.

When I lived closer I went to this location all the time to work remotely. They have quite a few small cafe tables for 2 people to sit at around the edge of the cafe, most with a window view. There is a restroom. The staff are lovely. Free street parking down Alcatraz.

They get the order wrong SO often :’/I’ve consumed so much cow milk here through the erroneous oat milk lattes they attempt.Online orders also come incorrect. Pls what do I need to do to not have to be stuck with another cow milk latte?

Located in the charming Rockridge area--Peet's is your steadfast, work-horse coffee shop. I used to go to Philz just across the street but after months of various baristas making my drink wrong or burnt, or having wait times of over 30 min, I decided to change it up. I have become what they call "a regular" at this Peet's since May of 2023.Every barista there has been super friendly and genuinely hard working. I feel that they care if your drink comes out wrong, and they apologize if you have had to wait longer than expected. Yes, it just little tiny details that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things--but it can make a big difference for someone pulling up at 6:30 AM on a cold winter day.Thanks so much to all the Peet's staff. :)
Parking: metered street parking becomes impossible after 8AM so be prepared to park in the Safeway parking lot or walk from somewhere else (IE residential street parking).
