Outstanding pizza, amazing crust on both the New York and Detroit style pizza. Detroit style pizza can be a gut bomb, but they managed to have a very light airy inside along with the crunchy crust that you expect from this style pizza. And I wasn’t drinking water for hours afterwards because of any excess salt issues from the sauce or the ingredients. Will come back again to try the Grandma and the Sicilian style and maybe bring bigger group so we can order more pizzas to try

I really like this pizza, it’s my favorite in the area, and the Ray J is out of this world 🤩 I had one poorly made pie one time but I give them a pass because of all the “MMMMmms” they’ve provided.

The crust is light, very light and not heavy to chew. People don't realize how hard this is to make on a consistent basis. The sauce is rich and flavorful. The toppings are bite sized or smaller which you rarely see. Most pizza has oversized toppings. Overall a lot of care goes in to making this pizza. I'm from the East Coast and have lived in the Bay Area since 1994. I can confidently say this is the best pizza in the Bay. We'll done!

My niece who was home from college located this place on a search whim. She picked this restaurant based the aesthetics of the menu. (Odd, I know.). We had the margarita (“Marge”) pizza New York style with two orders of the arugula salad. Both were delicious. The arugula perfectly mixed with a light lemony dressing and piled on top with light fresh cheese. The pizza crust was fresh chewy and perfectly cooked. Food service was quick and multiple friendly staff provided service that kept everything moving at the right place. Pricing was affordable and definitely a value.
I highly recommend and look forward to a return visit.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The staff were kind and warm. We brought our two young kids with us and we never felt judged or unwelcome. The pizza was DIVINE. We ordered the focaccia to start, it already had a bit of olive oil on it and a beautiful outer crust and fluffy center. Delicious. The pizzas, we got a new york cheese for our kids, and the Sicilian Pazzo for the adults. All delicious, with fresh ingredients and great textures. We will come back.

Really good food. I share a calzone, a pasta dish and another dish that came with bread. The dish that came with bread had really hard bread unfortunately but the rest of the food was great
Definitely one of the Top 3 Pizza restaurants I have ever been to. The food was INCREDIBLE! The service was top notch. The historic building was beautifully transformed into the perfect space of luxury. What a great experience, and I cannot wait to return to try some more of her Pizza. My wife bought her book in hopes of miraculously recreating our perfect meal! Thank you! ❤️❤️

Amazing hole in the wall pizza shop with a variety of delicious and flavorful dishes! Laura is an amazing chef who puts passions and creativity into all the dishes – which makes the pizza and pasta stand out compared to other restaurants. Every few months the dishes change which adds more excitement for frequent customers who come back. You can either dine in or order slices of pizza for take out.
NY meat lover pizza ($6.50): not overly sauced with the right amount saltiness. The pepperoni, bacon and other flavorful meats that adds an impact to the pizza. The dough is made to perfection with the perfect blend of chewiness and crunchiness on the crust.
Vodka Pasta with sausage ($26): creamy tomato sauce with rigatoni pasta and flavorful sausage. The sauce had the perfect balance between creaminess and tomato and coated the pasta well. The pasta was cooked al dente with the perfect amount of chew. Perfect plate in my opinion.
Service: excellent service – within 10-15 minutes of ordering, our food came out freshly cooked. The staff was attentive and very kind.
The prices may seem slightly above average but the quality and taste justify it.

This is my second time eating here and the food is quite good. The first time I ate here, I got the pepperoni NY style with basil. This time we ordered the La Regina Ny style and the Ray J detroit style. All of them were great. The crust is so delicious. I enjoyed the sweetness from the Ray J due to the honey and I liked the crispiness and saltiness of the cheesy crust. We sat outside as I had my dog with me, but service was still great as they were on top of it. The inside is really nice and I like how the doors can open up. Would be a good spot for a small group to dine together. Parking can be hard to find here. We ended up having to park in a garage that was nearby. If you need to use the bathroom, you’ll need to ask for the key because the door requires a card to scan open. It is located on the basement floor. They were clean and nice.

Matt's next stop on his excellent East Bay Pizza research is Pizzeria da Laura.
Pizza da Laura has all of the ingredients that make a thin crust pizza great. Chewy yet crusty dough that stands up to any toppings you want.
My pie came with quarter size pepperoni liberally added to a tomato and cheese base that made me smile.
Location is central Berkeley near campus. Parking can be challenging but their are dedicated lots near by.
Berkeley has become a Mecha for outstanding Pizzas, and Pizzeria da Laura is definitely in my top three.
If you are going to Cal Football or an event at the Freight, Matt says drop by Pizzeria da Laura for a pie. You can thank me late

Parking in this area sucks but the pizza is worth it. I have came here 2 times in the last month because of work and have not been disappointed yet. I get the Sicilian style, the crust has the perfect crunch to it and is soft on the inside. The red sauce has great flavor and the toppings taste fresh. Atmosphere is chill and laid back. Definitely would recommend. Best pizza in Berkeley in my opinion!
