Pleasantly surprised how good the food was here. They had plenty of options for meas a Coeliac, meaning I needed to eat gluten free

The food is awesome!! It's my first time being impressed with Vegan food. I'm a big sushi lover, and this was the best sushi I've eaten all summer =).

4 people:

We had three shared plates
- the negiyaki (best!!)
- tempura shitake (great!)
- potatoes (wouldn't order again).

And four sushi rolls
- Kailua
- Waimanalo (best!!)
- pacifica
- half-moon (wouldn't order again)

The place was buzzing with happy people. We tried the goyza, shizen shiitake, Pointe Reyes roll (said spicy, but we didn't find it to be too much) and the Pacifica roll (great tempura in this). Everthing was full of flavor and beautiful to look at. I did not take pictures, so go there and see for yourself. We also tried a cold saki that my husband really liked, the Kokuryu. I will definitely be back.

Delicious Japanese food in Berkeley. All vegan, creative dishes, and great staff.

I'm super appreciative of any vegan restaurants in the Bay Area. It's a myth that this area has a lot of veg places. There are actually very few, so I cherish the ones we have. I first went to the Honolulu location and liked it a lot. The Berkeley location smells weird. It's a small, LOUD restaurant where diners are so close together that you hear everyone's convos and smell their perfume. There is a roll they light on fire that smells like butane all through the small restaurant. So that's a bummer. The food is good. The seating is uncomfortable and it's just too loud to be fun or relaxing. It's hard to get the servers attention. The starters often come after the rolls, even when we asked for apps to come first. The view outside is of garbage cans lined up and trash. So... Could be a lot nicer of a place.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was varied and inventive. We had a variety of dishes. The rolls were more interesting than the shared plates, but all were good. We especially liked the Ewa and Pacifica specialty rolls. The desserts were fabulous - Yuzu Cheesecake, Mixed Berry Cheesecake and Pistachio Ice Cream. Gluten containing dishes were clearly marked.

I shared three specialty rolls with a friend. Each roll was beautifully presented and tasted so good. Can't wait to come back, but might make a reservation well in advance next time because the seats go quick!

This is hands down my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Bay. The food is so flavorful and fresh. Everything I’ve had has been excellent. #Veganuary

This place is so utterly pleasant. The food is good, the staff is nice, and the vibes are low-key soothing. This is a great place to go if you find eating out overstimulating. The music is the perfect volume, the lights are dim, and the decor is understated and pretty.

I shared 4 rolls and two starters between 3 of us, and everything was delicious and creative. We were so full! The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

6/5 sushi place. This is peak sushi if you want to walk away without the guilt of dead tuna or still moving octopus tentacles in your mouth.

Everything, including the edamame, is made with care and attention to flavor. The ramen was out of this world with incredible notes and a healthy spicy broth that can end all wars at once.

I wish they had more dessert options, but no matter.

This is a restaurant that ANYONE should try - went with my sister who is vegan, but me, my husband, and my parents absolutely LOVED everything we ate. Especially the mushroom appetizer.
