Order 25% sweet and the drink is sugar water. Bad quality and basically undrinkable. Not too mention it’s extremely overpriced! A basic boba milktea near $9. Does it look like people get their money for free?

Berkeley is not shy of boba shops. My friend and I were seeking boba after our meal and Teaspoon was nearby and open later than other spots. This tea shop is on the smaller end with only two tables. Most customers take their drinks to go. Ordering is a breeze which you do at the kiosk and wait for your name to be called. Our drinks took less than five minutes to be made by the sweet staff which was appreciated! There's a variety of milk and fruit teas, some are caffeinated and others aren't. Adjustments for ice and sweetness can be made plus fairly alternatives are available. Since it was late at night, the non-caffeinated Silky Mango, Light Ice, and Oat Milk called to me. I found the Silky Mango to be extremely sweet, and creamy, with nicely cooked boba. My friend had the Dirty Ube with Oat Milk. The drinks are a little pricey but a good size! Teaspoon is a small yet reasonable spot for drinks in Downtown Berkeley. They have locations all over the nation, with this one tucked away off University Ave. It's easily accessible by foot with street parking around.

One of the best boba options around. My kids and I are boba fans and we love trying different places. There have been a lot of disappointments and underwhelming experiences with all the various boba places around. This was completely different. Teaspoon is my new top option The service was great the staff were up beat The ambiance was very light and airy and clean The pricing is competitive to other boba shops But the quality was way better than what I have experienced than

This Teaspoon location is located in the downtown Berkeley area. While this is a busier area, I easily found parking right in front of the shop. Ordering is through their kiosk by the counter, so not much service - even though there were only a few customers inside at the time. This is a smaller shop compared to their other shops I had been to. I ordered my usual from here, which is their Creamy Jasmine. I originally wanted boba and grass jelly for my drink, but for some reason, they do not have grass jelly at this location. Anyway, my drink was decent - it was a bit on the unsweetened / watered down side though. It was not as cold, creamy, or sweet as their other locations, even at the same ice / sweetness levels and with the same cream choice.

Great late night boba spot! They were giving out free samples of the "ladybug" drink which was sweet and refreshing. The cashier was very friendly, told me about the ladybug drink, and how I could customize it for the future based on my preferences. I'm vegan so I ordered the matcha royale with oat milk (they use the califia brand) at 50% sweetness, it was still a bit sweeter than I normally like but still super good and creamy! I would definitely go back!

Came here on a normal weekday and wasn't busy at all. I normally like teaspoon and had it at many different locations however this teaspoon was disappointing. I ordered the Black Sugar Assam and it was super watered down and the boba wasn't chewy. The cup wasn't cleaned either, so there was some spill all over the cup. There weren't any milk alternatives either. They had a self order kiosk and is more of a grab and go boba spot because there aren't much seats at all. However, I did like how they had samples of lemon bar! Unfortunately overall was disappointed to try Teaspoon in Berkeley.

Great service and tasty drinks. Place is a little cramped so expect to get boba and leave. The default sugar level is too high in my opinion. Boba pearls are well made.

Came here on a rainy day. Not busy at all! I love teaspoon but this location was very disappointing! I ordered the strawberry colada and it was not filled up all the way like other locations I've been to. It was also not very slushy-like as it was more on melted/ watery side compared to the other locations I've been to.The staff was also not very friendly. I asked about adding my phone number to my purchase and received a not so friendly response telling me no they cannot do that post-payment. I also forgot to check-in on Yelp for the discount as order was done on a kiosk and staff was too busy making drinks in the back to assist at the cashier. I unfortunately won't be coming to this location again.

Such a great experience coming to the new Teaspoon in Berkeley. The staff was polite, the store was clean and the drinks were fantastic. I had the House Milk Tea with Honey Boba. Delicious. I met the Manager who's name is Jennifer, she has the best customer service from any establishment I have ever been too. I will be returning to this location

Tiny cafe with two tables for sitting. Good sz drink menu. But very limited dessert options-the display was probably 10% stocked, probably because we went on a Wednesday.Taro milk- disappointed the taro flavor is powdered base. I assumed I would be receiving a drink with taro flavor from the natural purée since it was a choice of topping. And also, the menu showed a white liquid, which would be the milk, and a lt purple paste, which would be the taro purée. However, my drink came out entirely purple bc it is artificial powder flavoring. Not delicious!!Strawberry piña colada slush- the better drink of the three we ordered. Except they did not fill it to the top before sealing up the drink.Oreo iced coffee- very strong coffee taste and a little sprinkle of Oreo cookie crumb at the btm of the cup.Tip- check in on Yelp for a 5% discount. We forgot to use it and was unable to apply the discount after completing a purchase.Final Verdict- very mediocre, I mostly likely won’t be returning.

Quick Summary:- Kiosk is available to order- There are specialty drinks and also customizable- Tall cups- Less than a handful of seats- Provides a point systemI visited here when the store is still in the soft opening stage. It is located close to the university and along university avenue. The interior has a cute elegant interior. The interior is also small, so there are not many seats. I treated this shop more of a grab a drink and go mindset. My memory is a little vague but I think there was a kiosk to order; however, in this round i ordered by asking the staff for the recommendations. They provided me a physical menu with two sides. One side displays the specialty drinks and the other side is the customization version. That day was a winter afternoon but after walking around the streets we became warm enough to get a cold drink. After viewing and absorbing recommendations from the staff, I decided to go to customization mode and pick a drink.Turned out though, the one I customized was pretty close to the Liquid Gold specialty drink, except I requested crystal boba. This drink was very good. I loved the bold flavor of the oolong standing out from the cream. It didn't get lost by the creamy milk, so every sip had a pleasant roasted flavor. I was glad to have asked the staff about the better option to add toppings into this drink and chose the crystal boba. I was thinking of either the regular boba or the coconut, but they have advised me to pick ones with less flavor or the toppings will mask away the tea -- and my focus was the tea. For me, crystal boba or the sago are my go-tos when I want some chewy texture in my drink but I want to focus on the tea flavor.Because it's located conveniently in the busier sides of Berkeley, I think I'll walk by here and grab a cup of tea.

I am writing this message as a major dissatisfaction to the service and drink order. I walked in to this location to place my order thinking it would be quick. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my drink that was a creamy classic jasmine milk tea with boba. I watched all other walk-in orders get their order before me. The staff working at the Berkeley location didn’t even bother to check in about my order until after 20 mins waiting. By the time they did get to my order (which was now 30 min) they said they ran out of boba…when I placed my order they definitely had boba. This is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed. I would either like my money back or get a free boba drink for this… come on 30 minutes for 1 classic milk tea boba?? It’s not even a speciality drink! Poor customer service all together to try resolve the situation too.

Excellent boba tea, unlike many places these they brew their tea and use fresh ingredients rather than powdered milk and tea!
