Thai Rice Spoon Catering

Thai Rice Spoon recently catered our wedding for 100+ guests. The food was wonderful and the staff was a delight to work with.

I don't usually write reviews but I had to after my friend's wedding. I actually went with my friend and her husband to the tasting and the food there was amazing. The owner promised us big portions with refills, everything served hot, and the same quality as the restaurant. So we really thought we were in good hands.

However, on the actual wedding day, it was the complete opposite. The portions were tiny, definitely not enough for a full table, and of course there were no refills like they promised. Most of the food came out cold and a lot of guests didn't finish their plates because it just wasn't good. Both sides of the family were disappointed, which was heartbreaking, because no one wants the food to be the bad memory from a wedding.

To make things worse, when my friend emailed them afterward with everyone's feedback, they never responded. No apology, no explanation, nothing. This is very unprofessional and irresponsible.

Based on what we experienced, I honestly can't recommend them for a wedding. The promises at the tasting and what they actually delivered were two completely different things. Couples deserve way better on their big day.

We order catering drop off from Thai Rice Spoon very frequently. 1) They know how to deliver to the right space, they have their own equipment to deliver from Car to Table. 2) the food is AMAZING and our event attendees enjoy 3)The Menu can be accommodate most dietary restrictions without the loss of flavor. 4) they provide food label!!!! We will be ordering from them on rotation!

Tumi and the rest of the staff at Thai Rice Spoon Catering were phenomenal. They were helpful, timely, and detailed oriented. We even received signs with descriptions of the food and allergy info. The food was absolutely amazing as well! It's delicious and there is a great variety that makes it easy to order food for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies.

Food is very tasty, and Tumi and her crew are very professional, willing to work with customer's specific needs.

We had a great experience catering my son's first birthday party. Tumi is super organized and responsive. They have extensive vegetarian and vegan options which was perfect for our crowd. They set everything up so well and arrived on time. There were only two issues with the food; first, the crispy rolls were quite cold on the inside. Second, their vegan pad Thai didn't come with all the toppings that you would expect (crushed peanuts, limes, bean sprouts) so it was a little bland. However all of our guests enjoyed the food and I would still definitely recommend them if you are looking for something unique for your next party!

Ordered catering for a 20 person gathering at my house. Everything was delicious, well-liked by our guests. The delivery was right on time and food arrived hot. They generously provided serving utensils as well as paper plates, and all the food was well-marked. I also had a great experience communicating with the caterer about allergy information. Couldn’t be happier with my experience - would highly recommend.

Our organization has been using Thai Rice Spoon catering for two years now and our staff always greatly enjoys their food. Their customer service is friendly. They always arrive on time and have all the dishes properly prepared with dietary restriction labels. Their staff doesn't just drop off their food but they also assist with arranging it so that people have an easy time making selections. Some times their communications can be a little delayed but they always do get back to us and do not miss any details in answering questions. Oh, and the food is very flavorful and good. I would highly recommend this Thai catering service local to the East Bay Area!
