I really wanted to support this place (their coffee isn’t great) but service experience was shockingly poor. Picked up a cappuccino for a friend and when I asked the barista (Asako?) why she served others (who arrived after I did) ahead of me she angrily “educated” me that she needed to get 2% milk from the back and it made sense to her(?) to skip me. She didn’t realize that a polite explanation or apology would have defused the situation.

unique drink offerings and very cute indoor space! usually very crowded inside but plenty of room outside on chairs or on the grass to sit.

Tissue napkin paper found in my iced chai latte. August 30th 1:56pm made by a guy with black? hair. All of the milk options are sitting out not inside of a fridge. No have a nice day or thank yous here either lol.

The Hidden Cafe is a true gem in Berkeley! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with a cozy library-like interior and a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the park. The pastries are delicious, especially the sweet potato brownie and the vegan options. The coffee is excellent, and the Kokuto Latte is a must-try. I especially appreciate the friendly staff and the welcoming ambiance. To elevate the experience even further, I recommend The Hidden Cafe consider using Tuneast to create a unique music space. With Tuneast, you can easily curate playlists and allow customers to vote for their favorite songs, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to this already wonderful cafe.

Lovey coffee. Lovely places to sit. Go there on a warm day with a picnic blanket and nothing will go wrong.

My favorite lil cafe :)
Friendly service, delicious drinks, and lovely park vibes - enough said!

P.S. - I would very much appreciate gluten-free options added to your pastries.

Thoughtfully designed Berkeley cafe, with a rustic Northern European feel. Wood finishes, brick exterior, high ceilings, dried flowers and house plants. A treat to read or work from, with a park immediately adjacent if in need of a break. Coffee, top-notch.
