The food was decent. There's a cute patio, but we sat inside. It was semi self serve. You order your food & seat yourself.

Cute local cafe that we stumbled upon while in the Berkeley area. Fresh and delicious food. If we find ourselves back in the area, would definitely visit again.

Disaster: couldn't figure if it was a croissant or gummy bear, watered down coffee! Ruined Sunday by coming here..

The food could have been better. I ordered sausage links, eggs over hard, and French toast. The sausage had no flavor, and the French toast was very gummy. Money wasted. Hopefully, they have other items on the menu that's delicious.

If I could give a minus 5 for terrible service, I would. Had a meal, wanted to buy a gift certificate for a friend that lives near by, was told that they don't know how to do it in the restaurant, and to use their website and the Toast function on their website. The gift certificate was never emailed to a friend, and after 3 calls, got to Claudia the Manager who doesn't know how to access Toast and the Owner Jack never had the decency nor respect to call me to clear up the situation. So, cancelled the over $100 transaction AND ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A GIFT CERTIFICATE HERE. Their customer service sucks.

Quaint place with gorgeous seating options. Vegetarians have many options for brunch. I was underwhelmed by the paper thin tortillas for the burritos. For some reason the food in diners is never salted or spiced and this place isn't any different. The chocolate chip scones were average too.

Tomato serves great breakfast/brunch and lunch. Our favorite things to get are the Huevos Rancheros, Pancakes and Eggs Benedict. It’s a great neighborhood place with plenty of seating inside (and out) and plenty of parking. Hometown’s food is legit. Nice job, Jack.

Food was good and very well priced. Very comfortable to hang out for a little while as it was midweek and not too busy. Only quibble, I don't like thier home fries; oddly sweet.

For years we came for brunch on Sundays after church, then COVID hit and we hadn't been back until this past Sunday.
It was wonderful to see that the restaurant has survived and is doing well! Unfortunately, while our experience was mostly positive, there were a couple of good issues that were quite disappointing. The larger of the two was withe the eggs Benedict: the eggs were perfectly poached, but regular rasher bacon was used instead of Canadian bacon and worse than that was the beautifully yellow Hollandaise sauce had absolutely ZERO lemon flavor. I honestly don't know how it's even possible, but it was truly tasteless.
Second to that issue was the "two slices" of toast that came with the Classic breakfast. The "two slices" are a single slice cut in half - put them together and voila! they make one whole slice - seriously?!? Plus it was dry, no butter or jam...had to ask for it, and it was cheerfully given!
The coffee was good, the service was lovely, overall the food was good and we'll go back, but with these easily correctable issues can't give more stars until they are. Fingers crossed.
