U Cafe has some of the best boba I’ve ever had. I always go for a milk tea. They’ve always done well with my non-dairy milk teas, which has been hard for me to come by.I can’t tell if they’re still open for business or if their hours have shifted because whenever I try to come during their listed hours, they’re closed :( Can anyone share whether they’ve been to U Cafe while it’s been open recently?

Staff was friendly and the smoothie I got was good but unfortunately made me sick with food poisoning. Not sure if they used older fruit or it was a cleaning issue but will not be going back :(

Great boba and friendly staff.

Stopped by and got the strawberry peach smoothie. Extremely long wait as there was only one lady taking orders and making all the drinks. The smoothie had a solid, smooth texture. It was too sweet for my liking though.

I liked this small cute cafe. The lady serving us was very kind. It looks like the type of place I'd love to dine in precovid times. Next time I'm in Berkeley I'll be stopping by.

I came here on a weeknight with my friend and decided to try this spot because we haven't been here before! They close at midnight daily so it's a good spot to hangout if you need a late night spot to hang with friends. Not only do they've boba, they've some food and snack choices. Prices are decent for the drinks, similar to other boba spots but snacks are pricey, at least $6-$8 for something like popcorn chicken or squid. I got the jasmine milk tea with boba and it reminded me of my childhood! It tasted like milk tea from those old mom and pop boba shops from Chinatown. It had that balance of milk and tea so it's not too creamy and didn't have too strong of a tea taste to it. The boba I felt was a little too chewy that it kind of melts in your mouth but overall the drink was good. Of course like most Chinese places, it's looks kind of old and dirty inside. Also, I thought the seal for the boba cup was cute, it had an animated cartoon on it with different countries on it!

Humid August day, walking through Downtown Berkeley, I needed something cool and sweet. I stumbled across their sign advertising their special: $3 mango smoothie. This was amongst the tastiest and most refreshing thing I've ever had. Can't wait to hear back to the Bay so I can have this again!

Love the boba here. And it nice to to have my options to choose sugar level and ice amount.

I got the Hot Almond Milk Tea w/ Boba and the Hot Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba. The workers are friendly and the boba is decent for the price (a little less than $4). The hot tea wasn't as hot as other hot bobas I've tried, but the insulating cup definitely helped keep it warm a tad bit longer. The flavor wasn't as strong as I usually enjoy it (like I couldn't remember if I got Jasmine Milk Tea or Almond Milk Tea). But overall decent boba for the price and I will probably go back sometime in the future.

No wait, $5 or $6 large smoothie plus other drinks and Japnaese snacks. Very friendly, a lotta boba and the mango milk smoothie was very good. Dining inside or outside tables and steps.

BEST acai smoothie in berkeley!! I wish i discovered it sooner but it lives up to socal acai for sure! They don't use that acai sorbet that a lot of places use, they actually blend it from the sambazon packets. Highly recommend t! Had 3 smoothies in the past three days...

I stopped by last night to grab some sweets and the service was great. My son and husband got brownies. I got a chocolate cake. We asked for the items to go and went home. When we arrived home I made myself comfortable on the couch to eat my chocolate cake; I opened the container and there was a huge fly on my cake I was disgusted and sad that I couldn't eat the cake. Again, service was great but I completely wasted $5 on a piece of cake.

I initially did not have high expectations for this place after reading a lot of negative reviews, but honestly, it was not as bad as people say. I got the Thai milk tea with boba 80% sugar because I ordered through Snackpass with their 50% off special. With the discount, it was a little less than $2.50 which is paradise for college students like me. The drink had just the right amount of sweetness. However, it was a little watered down and not as fragrant as other Thai milk teas I have tried. The boba is decent and quite sweet, and it is soft and chewy rather than mushy, so their boba quality is on point. To be honest, I would not have gone to this place had it not been for the discount, as there are so many boba places in Berkeley that offer better drinks at similar prices that it is hard to justify being a regular here.

This place is really close the the UC Berkeley campus. I came here with a co-worker, hoping that we'd get something to eat/drink and work from here, but unfortunately found out that this place does not have WiFi. As a result, we got our items to go. I ordered their large rose milk tea with boba which was good. I liked that their boba texture was just right- not too hard and not too mushy. Pros: -they have items to eat and drink -good boba -places to sit inside Cons: -no WiFi -not the best place to work or have conversations because they make smoothies (blender is loud)
