We'll miss Venus!!! As an aside, there is a bar called Gypsy in this spot. The bartender is nice, and the bar is pretty. The owner is a brat...double-parking and blocking traffic in front. Best to take public transport.

I think they are changing the name(?),On door dash is CraveBuger but it's the same address.I order the onion rings tonight and it's all burnt and bite like a stone

Literally the worst dinner experience i’ve ever had in Berkely. My dinner companion asked for eggplant as a substitute for fennel, and all seemed well until the dish arrived with fennel. This is when the waitress (the only waitress of the night) decided to blame him for not properly communicating it. After some words, she agreed to get him a side of eggplant. She came back with more fennel. Apparently the cook had no idea what egg plant was, and proceeded to yell at us, even throwing silverware in frustration. On top of that, since they were comedically understaffed (2 employees total), so the food took 30 minutes to come out, despite only 4 people being in the restaurant at the time. This was such a negative dining experience, I strongly advise others to avoid it during dinner, but I cannot speak for their breakfast/brunch.. The staff on the night of Jan 14 should be totally embarrassed by their service and conduct.

No rating today as we didn't get to enjoy their food this morning as the place was closed and there was a man inside that opened the door to our knock that was working inside. It appeared that everything has been removed. Yelp had no information about the closure. My wife and I did visit this business about 4 years ago on our last visit to a dear friend who introduced us to this great dining place.

I came here for brunch pre-Covid in February and I remember there being a very long wait at the time. The chicken sausage scramble was decent, but I thought it was a bit pricey for $14. The flavors and dish in general didn't feel particularly special. What really stood out to me though were the lemon ricotta hotcakes. They were moist, zesty, and full of flavor! The jams and curds on the side also complemented perfectly. My boyfriend is not a sweets person when it comes to breakfast food, but he even couldn't resist these! We still think about these pancakes all the time. I was actually craving them just now and realized I never wrote this review, which is why I'm doing so almost one year later haha

The food quality is 5 stars. Though fair warning: the biscuits and gravy is not actually biscuits and gravy. It is one biscuit cut in half with enough gravy for 3 biscuits. Also, side note: the biscuit was next to the salad and dressing so now the biscuit tastes like dressing which is a bummer even though all the food tastes great. I can not stress enough how good the food is.

Got their Venus Benedict a while back and I have to say that it was great! Really solid hollandaise sauce and overall a pretty decent wait time given how popular the place was for a Sunday brunch (pre-covid). I highly recommend this place for Berkeley brunch!

Best breakfast place. Hands down. We come all the way from Castro Valley to get the Royal Omelette

I used to love this place but not only did they increase their prices, they cut the portions in half! During a pandemic...

Their food on the menu is AMAZING!! Breakfast amytime :) Kid friendly establishment. Omelettes are delicious, salads are SO GOOD and the hot sandwiches are my favorite, egg sandwich and Chavo (chicken) sandwich GF bread available and so yum. Never tried the buffet....The staff is friendly and treats us like family

Got takeout here for a birthday brunch and I couldn't be happier! Typically takeout isn't as good as sitting in at the restaurant, but Venus found a way to make the takeout brunch incredible! Very timely and delicious... will definitely order again.

The best breakfast in the area. Plan to go back there the first weekday things get back to normal. Weekends are busy, but nothing atypical for breakfast in the bay.

Pleasantly surprised by my experience here! Originally my group of 13 was going to go somewhere else but ended up here instead because of some seating issues. I'd never been here before, but their brunch menu sounded pretty tasty. I got the Indian brunch, and enjoyed every part of it! It came with curried carrot zucchini pancakes, akoori-mango aioli (delicious!!), homemade chapati, banana raita, and tomato cilantro scrambled eggs. I thought the portions were pretty generous for the price. Overall, a pretty good brunch spot!

Solid brunch spot. I never really crave Venus and usually resort to eating here whenever the wait at La Note is too inconvenient; that being said, I've enjoyed both of the experiences I had here. If you're in the mood for a mix of savory and sweet flavors, I would suggest ordering the 2x2x2. With this option, you get two eggs any style, two sausages / bacon slices, as well as two pancakes (and for more $ you can get a premium type of pancake, such as the dark chocolate and raspberry or the lemon ricotta ones that they're known for). I usually opt for the lemon ricotta pancakes and they're great, with very unique flavors. Service here is good. The waiters are very personable and down-to-earth. It was mostly empty during my recent visit (that said, I did visit on a weekday) but on weekends it's more bustling. A solid Berkeley brunch spot and a shame that students don't frequent Venus enough!
