If you want to feel like a lead in a noir film, The Club Bar at The Peninsula is the spot. It’s that rare kind of old school cool that you just don't see much anymore, all dark birch wood, deep leather chairs, and a fireplace that makes you want to order a scotch and stay for three hours..

I love going to this bar when I don't feel in the mood to deal with the normal Beverly Hills game of trying to play who's the most rich and famous in the room. The bar is well appointed and beautifully decorated, but not in a pretentious way. Drinks are well concocted. Service is attentive with minimal conversation, which is OK by me. Good place to meet someone for the first time from a dating site; just valet park and never worry about them following you to your car....

I sat down and was immediately greeted by the lovely bartender (I forgot her name) and she gave me great service. I ordered a cocktail made with hibiscus-infused Mezcal garnished with candied rose petals and it was very good. I then ordered it again on a large rock with I would recommend over having it up. The sliders and fries were good as well, 8/10. Will definitely be back again.
