One of the most distinctive & special dining experiences I've had in a while. Worth every penny. Can't believe we hadn't been here before. The Yazawa Omakase was eyebrow raising at nearly every course. From the mixed vegetable salad to the various cuts of Wagyu, this legitimately put other purveyors of beef in Beverly Hills & the Westside to shame. Can't wait to return.
The food was delicious. Excellent varied cuts of Japanese A5. The service was also excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and personable. Great decor!
Absolutely incredible dinner and experience. Probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service is also ridiculously incredible. We all had the Omakase...and it was unbelievable.
Got it! Here's a polished review you can use: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yazawa has quickly become my new favorite restaurant! The quality of the food is outstanding, with every dish prepared to perfection. The flavors are rich and authentic, and the attention to detail is evident in every bite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal, whether for a special occasion or just a casual night out. The service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Yazawa is the place to go! Highly recommend.
Food was amazing. Wasn't overly impressed w the rest but generally happy with the quality of the meal. Experience myself was sub par.
We came here for my sister's birthday dinner as we both have had yakiniku in Japan and she loves it. The restaurant is very private and has a nice ambiance. We both got the signature omakase, and it was a good amount of food for both of us. However, we both don't eat a ton so if you are hungry or eat more generally it may not be enough food for you. Our server was also very attentive and made sure to explain each cut of meat to us carefully. The meat quality is great and the various seasonings they let us try were great. One drawback here is that the omakase only includes the meat (you have to pay to add anything else—salad, rice, dessert, etc) and we wished a little that we had something to eat between the meats. For this price point you would expect maybe some other things to be included in this set, as other omakase usually have. Additionally, I had asked the hostess if they did anything special for birthdays but they don't really offer anything of that kind. I would say maybe just don't expect a lot if you are coming for a special occasion as it will be more just like a standard meal.
Fabulous! Food, service and ambience!!! Don’t miss your opportunity to have some of the best Wagyu in the city! U star all around!!!

We wanted to have Premium Japanese Wagyu during our time in Japan. So did some research and were recommended to Meat Yazawa. We ordered the top of the line filet mignon and sirloin that they offered. It was absolutely delicious! Definitely Expensive but 100% worth it. Service was excellent and has a good atmosphere as well. Will definitely be coming back here on our next trip to Tokyo.

First time there the waiter, Jonathan walked us through what to experience. It was the most incredible mood I've ever eaten. I really appreciated his expertise and it was a great meal.

The cuts of meat were really good but the omakase didn't come with anything but the meat, had to order sides such as kimchi and radish separately and dessert wasn't included either. Usually when we order omakase, it's an entire set starting from appetizers, to sides and dessert. Especially for $180 per person before taxes and gratuity, it was a bit surprising. The waiter and waitress were nice and friendly when we interacted with them, but not very attentive aside from changing our plates out often. They had asked if we prefer to grill our meat or have them grill it, which we responded for them to grill it but they ended up grilling it just half the time. That may be on us though as maybe if we waited longer they would've come to grill, but the grills were burning sometimes so we went ahead and did it ourselves. Honestly it was a bit underwhelming for an omakase experience overall that cost $200+ per person total and we wouldn't return.
We were visiting from out of state and were so excited to try the omakase wagyu!! We made reservations at 5 and were the first people in the restaurant on a Saturday so we were served pretty quick.
The service and the quality of meat was absolutely incredible! I was satisfied with every bite of meat I had :) Our server graciously cooked our meat for us as we would have burned it lol, but he always put on a good show every time.
SOO much meat was served for us only ordering the cheapest omakase option. (still quite expensive but definitely worth it!)
We're so happy with our first time visit, I'm looking forward to returning when I'm back in LA!!

If you are expecting a fine culinary experience at Yazawa, you will be disappointed. The elevated price does not match all the menu items. The staff were courteous, but weren't particularly helpful in educating newcomers to their concept. The interior space was what you would see at a typical korean bbq place - old and aged wooden booths.
The price for Japanese wagyu was somewhat justified. Whether it be sushi, sashimi, or various cuts for the bbq, they were all melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The wagyu rice was decadent too. You should only go to treat yourself to this. The American cuts will disappoint for sure, as the price does not match the portion, and the salads were overly-salty, with a rooky blend of ingredients such as dried whole mushrooms so surprisingly hard, it could have cracked a tooth.
Additionally, if you are a Korean kimchi lover, do not order their assortment of kimchi. Their Japanese umami twist is quite off-putting on the palate. It's all subjective, but kimchi is such a specific flavor that is loved for its pungency and sourness... you might as well call it some other pickled dish to negate this.
As tasty as the Japanese wagyu was, I walked out equally dissatisfied with the entire experience. To end on a better note though, the bbq grill has excellent ventilation so you won't smell like your meal. I wouldn't dissuade you from dining here. just know what to order.

Fantastic! Had many opportunities to eat at the best BBQ restaurants ( American, Korean & Japanese) but this blew me away. Quality of the meat and the service from Ryan was impeccable! Will be back for sure.
