Bad service
Visited Big Bear today with my family and tried this ice cream shop for the first time, we usually visit the other ice cream shop down the street in the village with our kids but this one had a shorter line today and we will definitely be back!!! The staff (especially the manger!) were so kind and sweet. Really welcoming experience all around and glad to see this addition to the big bear village! 🥰
Good ice cream shop!
I rarely write reviews, but I felt it was important to share our experience.
We visited this ice cream shop recently as a party of six during what was clearly a busy time. (8p.m. with maybe around 10 customers total but not rush hour).
We completely understand total that Saturday nights can be stressful—but that does not excuse rude or disrespectful behavior from staff.
There were four employees helping customers and two of them were helping us. One of them—a man with black hair—was polite, patient, and professional. He treated us with respect, answered questions, and helped keep things moving. He’s the only reason this review isn’t one star.
Unfortunately, the older man with white hair and a white beard who assisted us left a very negative impression. He appeared visibly frustrated, didn’t even try to hide it, and at one point, while taking our order, literally said “Oh Jesus” in an irritated tone with an angry expression—right in front of us. It was rude, unnecessary, and made me feel uncomfortable.
We weren’t being difficult—we were just ordering ice cream like anyone else. I don’t care how busy it gets, treating customers like they’re a burden is never okay. If handling a larger group during peak hours is such a problem, then maybe management needs to reassess staffing or training—because this was not it.
We came here for a treat and left feeling like we were a problem. Respect and patience go a long way. Thankfully, the younger employee had both.
Soooo good! 1st time in B &G ice cream Big Bear, Ca. Try the weet and salty caramel with nuts!!
Great ice cream and amazing staff
The ladies Alex and Rebecca are wonderful. They were very pleasant and made my family feel very welcome. We will definitely come back.
Great ice cream in beautiful Big Bear 🐻
We have been twice so far, once during the afternoon and the other during the evening. They can be pretty busy but usually serve pretty quickly. We happened to see the same worker there and she is very friendly and helpful as were the other employees. We liked being able to try unique flavors of ice cream Ben & Jerry's is known for. The non-dairy ice cream is very good! They have multiple different flavors which is nice. We really enjoyed the different dipped cones as well. My son really enjoyed the Marshmallow Sky ice cream and had a mess from enjoying it. I went back inside and asked for a wet paper towel and they were very accommodating which I appreciated.
Shout out to one of the best customer service interactions I have had in a long time!!
I came into Ben & Jerry's to get my 4 little girls some ice cream, Mathew truly met us where we were at and provided us with TOP notch service. Thank you so much, and I can't wait to come back.

I went tonight on 6.8.2025, 10 mins before closing and the girl in there already had the door locked with her sign on as closed. She saw me and I waved, she turned her back on me and continued her phone call. I was absolutely saddened by this since Ben n Jerry's is my favorite and I dont get to any very much. I ended up going of to North Pole fudge factory, which still had 5 mins before closing at 10pm, they were still open.
Quick service and friendly staff.
