We were across the street getting our rental when we came upon this place. It was really good and the woman who helped us was very friendly.

Casual dining. You order at the front counter, then grab a table. Indoor area has two large tables for big groups. Has outdoor eating area as well. Large portions. Most entrees can fed two people. The ribs were tender, the burrito was huge. Service satisfactory.

After eating at two restaurants (Tropacalli and Himalayan, ) and being disappointed, underwhelmed, after reading all their rave, yet, misleading reviews. I didn’t expect this place to be good. I WAS WRONG! The food is amazing, unexpected. Feels like a hug. The Fricasse is love in a bowl. The Loma Montado is amazing. Chicken enchiladas are delightful. Tres Leches cake to die for. It’s not a fancy place, ordering is at the counter. They have margaritas which, according to my family members, were very good. The icing on the cake is the service. Friendly, attentive, hard working family. We liked it so much we ate there twice during our stay in Big Bear.

Family went out for an early dinner and decided on this bright yellow Latin restaurant . At first Gabbys seemed a little funky , you order at the front counter then go into a rather plain dining room to seat yourself . When the food starts arriving everything changes , the avocado salad to share was large , delicate , and delicious. The moment the Fricase ( Bolivian Pozole ) was brought to the table we were hooked . The aroma was amazing , the broth spicy at first , then mellowing out to pure happiness , the pork was bursting with flavor and was melt in your mouth tender. There was even a bonus of a pork rib in the bowl . This dish was love in a bowl . The Lomo Montado , was equally excellent with delicious carne asada and fried eggs perfectly cooked . The kids went towards the Mexican side of the menu having chicken enchiladas and a chicken torta , both generous portions and delicious. We were served by a trio of women , Gabby , her daughter, and another lovely young lady . They checked often to make sure we were happy and refilled drinks so that they were never empty . We finished with a slice of their excellent tres leches cake . This is the best meal we’ve had in Big Bear . Gabby’s warm hospitality and delicious food are not to be missed !

Went here this past weekend to get some snacks for my family and first of all the employees looked clueless and couldn't figure out how to make a raspado which is just shaved ice with syrup. Then when i am halfway home i realized i was charged for an item however they didn't give it to me so i had to drive back, i get there and the girl at the counter asks me if i am sure i asked for it, to which i reply yes, then she checked the receipt and saw that i had indeed paid for it and then prepares the item for me and apologizes. So then i get home and the raspado is the wrong flavor, i ordered vanilla and they gave me rompope which wasn't good so i ended up having to throw it away. Also they put tajin on the corn which does not taste good. Overall it was a bad experience and the only thing that was good out of all the items we got was the ice cream and fresas con crema. Would not come back here, i would rather drive down the hill the hill

One of the girls working there was being so rude to the other employee that seemed new to the job. Even while helping me and another customer this girl was belittling her coworker who was obviously struggling. The fruit bowls we got weren’t even that good either. Mango was mushy and cucumber was cut into too small of pieces. Was out of watermelon which I wanted but the thing is I didn’t even ask for mango but it got in my bowl somehow. I think she was too preoccupied with what her new coworker was doing and was distracted from preparing my order correctly

What a find! We were looking for a new place for dinner and stumbled upon this place. The fricase was amazing. I love pozole but the flavors in this Bolivian style were out of this world. And it included an entire spare rib! You could tell that this place has a personal touch as the food is prepared like you are in your abuela's home.

Gabby's has become a go to place for us. We ended up starting to go there during Covid because they had/have a great system where you could order and pay over the phone and pickup from a window on the back side of the building. But we keep coming back because of the food. My biggest issue with the food in Big Bear is that so much is fried and bad for you. We have recently been eating vegetarian and Gabby has some great choices. She has the very best veggie burrito I have ever had. The thing is massive and so flavorful. It is a great mix of different veggies (not just onions and peppers like so many other places). The rice is mixed with quinoa and is so moist. I order the burrito without beans and it isn't dry at all. Make sure to order a side a chips, the home made and just perfect. The avocado salad is a signature dish there and should not be missed!

The picante chicken is out of this world! I hesitated on this dish because Gaby said it was spicy, but she convinced me try to it and I'm glad I did. The chicken is tender, covered in a red spicy sauce with peas and fresh cilantro. Spicy but not bad. It has a nice blend of spices and texture. Comes with rice and a pasta with cheese. Note, there is an additional $3 for any dish with meat. We found out afterwards. No dine in still, but there's tables and chairs in the back parking lot. A little pricey but will be worth it!

Tried the esquite it lacked flavor and the corn was overcooked. Also had the chícharon it was missing almost all ingredients advertised in the picture. It literally only had crema, cucumber, chamoy, peanuts and tamarindo candy that was hard as a rock.
