Delicious pastrami sandwich!! Perfect for after our paddle board ride over the lake! The meat was lean and piled up! Was recommended to us by a local at Pleasure Point Marina, it is the best sandwiches in Big Bear ! We featured our full adventure on Youtube at our channel @hikebytes.

Honestly one of the most disappointing restaurants in Big Bear. Took 45+ minutes to get seated. Ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and it was probably the most dry and salty thing I've ever eaten. Peppers and onions were raw and in massive chunks. It was a culinary embarrassment.

Took an additional hour and a half to order, eat, and pay. Worst part is the sandwich was almost 20 dollars. I felt robbed.

Don't waste your time coming here. Literally eat anywhere else in Big Bear. I'd rather eat a chunk of mountain dirt then ever eat Mountain Munchies ever again.

Went here for breakfast Sunday morning during Oktoberfest time (so all of the restaurants were BIZZY). The dining room is very small but they really make it work. There was a 25 minute wait but we were actually seated within 10-15 minutes. The host even found us in the parking lot to let us know, which was really kind. Our server was Eddie, and despite not being a Pokémon fan (jk!), he was an excellent server. He overheard us talking about how we needed one more menu and before we could flag him down, he had the busser bring it to us. He was on top of refills and made conversation with us, all while being speedy. My French Dip (they call it something else) was impeccable. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their egg dishes (I hate eggs so I didn't try them). Coffee was pretty decent, as well. We really liked the art and the scenic photos on the booths. It was in a grocery store shopping center, so there's plenty of parking, too, unlike the other places closer to the center of big bear. The bathrooms are one each, one for men one for women, so it can be a wait and it's a little awkward. I just meandered over to Staters, no biggie. I highly recommend this little gem. If you go, say hello to Eddie for us!

The first time I ordered pot roast at mountain munchies it was fresh delicious and yum, but today I ordered the same food it was a tasteless and cold pot roast which was cooked many days ago. I did not enjoy at all. I am not coming back.🤮

I've been a customer for 40 some years and have never had a bad meal at Munchies. When my pop comes up the mountain to visit it's our go-to place because it's quiet enough to have a conversation and get a great no-frills kind of lunch. Service is always exemplary

It was a bit snug, and a little bit warm because it wasn't much ventilation other than that it was a pretty nice place. We'll return here during our winter trip in 2025.

Unfortunatly I have to adjust my five star rating the past 3 times we have had problems, tonight my hot turkey sandwich didnt have the bread and we were missing items, our last order was heavily salted to the point of being inedible and the time before we were missing a salad. I would guess there is a a new cook or something but things have definetly declined in the past few months we have been coming here for 6 years and regret the loss of their original standards.
