We unfortunately got stuck here on Hwy 1. , N and S both ways -due to mud slide- have been blocked today . We ended up visiting 3 different restaurants near by, and first 2 were over priced yet super busy and not sure about the attitude we received was kind enough. I really do appreciate the kindness and the good quality food & service we received from this beautiful restaurant. Not sure if I am coming back to Big Sur area again but I live in LA so I am definitely recommending this beautiful place . Please do yourself a favor and order the beet salad ! Make sure to crown your dining experience with a scrumptious dessert ? ?Dietary restrictions: I appreciate the vegetarian and seafood dishes !! As a Mediterranean, I am not into eating bacon, sausage etc ? Need to come back for breakfast for sure !Kid-friendliness: They offer pasta for kids, fresh squeezed OJ is yummy !!

What a fantastic bakery in the unlikeliest of places! I had two fabulous items here. The ginger scone was a complete surprise. So flavorful and baked to perfection. The ham and cheese croissant is an ideal savory breakfast. Light and crispy pastry with more generous ham and cheese than most bakeries provide. Definitely check them out if you are passing through or camping in Pfeiffer like we were.

Ordered some lovely pastries while down in Big Sur on vacation. Our favorite had to be the Maple Bacon Bow so yummy. The location is gorgeous with beautiful landscaping and the staff kind as well. But beware the wild turkeys are no joke. They will attack you or your vehicle.

LOVE this place!!Literally the cutest cafe on the planet. Never have had something I have not liked here. The banana Nutella streudel is the best :)I’ve been here many times over the years, and I always make a point to stop by when I’m around the peninsula. They also have great snacks (sables and trail mix!), and cool stuff from local ceramicists etc. Totally worth it to stop by :)

They don’t serve food. So the images of the menu is very misleading. All they serve are overpriced pastries. The restaurant does not actually exist.

Casual & cozy. Great for dinner and for morning pastries. Go early in the AM, gets crowded.

I still think about the maple bacon pastry. Go early, expect a line and items to run out. Worth it.

Did I really spend $50+ at this little bakery off the road in Big Sur? Yes, and I don't regret it. We hopped in line Monday late morning after checking out of our camp site. The line was already out the door. After placing your order at the counter, you wait outside for your name to be called. There was ample seating outdoors on the porch. * Cream-filled donut: I'm normally not a fan of filled donuts, but this one was so good! They sell out quickly, and for good reason. The filling was not overly sweet and the dough was fluffy. * Maple bacon twist: Not my fave, but my partner liked this one the most. It is one of the larger pastries. * Almond croissant: Good! Tastes like you would expect. * Vegetable strusel: Ok my friend bought this. I had a bite of hers and I went back to the bakery to buy one for myself because it was that tasty. It's a flaky buttery pastry filled with flavorful mushrooms, peas, onions, and garlic. The pastries aren't the cheapest, but I recommend stopping by if you're camping in the area. I wish they warmed up the pastries for customers. I'm sure that would make them taste even better!

Can't accommodate a walk-in party of ONE with 2 full hours of service remaining and less than a dozen people in the restaurant? Embarrassing. Was looking forward to this meal, but I will not bother trying again.

Friendly people (although not particularly helpful), and very good pastries, but really over priced and not very wheelchair /pram friendly.
