Come for the views! Not a lot of vegetarian options- the tofu burger was good but not exceptional. We were also a bit disappointed by how they’re not dog friendly despite having a huge outdoor seating area.

I've been coming here for at least 50 years. When we have friends visit from out of town we take them here for lunch. No can do anymore. It is EXTREMELY expensive. Not like a pinch, like a punch. The food is ok, not awesome. The drinks are fine. The prices are just crazy stupid. The view is to die for and that's why we came. No more. Very sad beginning of the end for this historic landmark. Make it a museum.

Your options are limited along the coast and the main reason you go to nepenthe is for the views. It's a destination in of itself but the food is average.

The restaurant has a very nice view of the ocean in a cozy place. You can expect a few minutes waiting for a table if you come in a peak hour, so I recommend stopping by early to get a nice spot. The food was good and prices are high, compatible with the place.

We stopped here for lunch after numerous recommendations from blogs and reviews. Besides the nice view, this place is otherwise mega hyped up. The food and service were mediocre at best. We asked the food runner to take a quick picture of us and she gave us the biggest attitude. The ambrosia burger, which is their specialty, was good but nothing special and definitely not worth the $25 price tag. Neither was the $14 French fries basket. You are paying for the view, but the view does not justify for the high price tag. Definitely just a one time experience for us.

Must stop on a trip to Big Sur or somewhere like that. The view is outstanding and worth visiting.
It’s a restaurant with a million dollar view! Must visit place! The menu is simple but every dish is tasty. And the opportunity to drink a glass of beer looking at the famous California mist and the coastline is precious. Some tips: take in consideration that the restaurant is VERY popular but not spacious, so you might have a problem with parking and need to wait to be seated. So it’s better to come either before lunch time or a little bit later.

Sweet spot, not many food choices and their service can be slow. The great views make up for the rest.

If you are anywhere near Big Sur, this is a must go to restaurant. While it is very pricey, the views make up for everything! The service was perfect. But I have to be honest, the food wasn't as good as I was expecting. But this is my second time eating here and I would go back!
