We had such a wonderful experience at Sierra Mar! We were driving from far away and ended up arriving at a different time than our reservation, but the staff were so kind and accommodating,they still seated us and made everything perfect. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the whole evening felt magical. The view, the food, and the service were all incredible. It was truly an unforgettable experience

It was girlfriends birthday the staff accommodated by creating a special menu with her name on it. Everyone wished her a happy birthday as well. They were Abel to accommodate our allergies as well.

An amazing restaurant with gorgeous views. But, while the views and the food were truly magical, the service is what really set our experience apart. The staff goes above and beyond to make the experience special. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

The lunch we had at Sierra Mar was without a doubt the best culinary experience that I have had in years. The food was exquisite and the wine pairings were perfect. Roman was our server and he made great recommendations and immediately felt like family. The general manager, Brendan, spent time getting to know us and we found out that we had mutual friends in common. Toppings it all off, was the amazing view we had looking down on the Pacific Ocean from the top of the mountainside cliff. If you have the chance, go to Sierra Mar at the Post Ranch Inn. Life is lived in moments and I can guarantee that they will give you a memorable one.

This is a splurge and long-time favorite. Set menu for lunch but a delicious food experience. I took home several new ideas to use in my own kitchen. The space is so beautiful overlooking the ocean and watching the marine layer move in and out. Service personnel were all warm and informative.

Sierra Mar is a treasure and its prix fixe luncheon is a relative value given the ability to appreciate the daytime view and savor a delectable meal in the inimitable ambiance of Big Sur. The 1st course of fresh and pickled veggies from the garden is accompanied by silky hummus and a tomato tapenade sort of dip. The tabbouleh salad is dressed with a light vinaigrette & replete with delicate butter lettuce. The main course choices - chicken, steak, fish of the day (Ora King salmon yesterday), a smash burger decorated with tiny pickled peppers, and a veggie entree - were varied and perfectly prepared. Lunch was topped off with lemon panna cotta dotted with stone fruit slices and almond cookie crumbs. All a real treat!

Everyone, especially our serverSpirit, were the best combination of warmth, professionalism and knowledge. Champagne to start was such a treat - and the meal was fresh, delicious an unpretentious. I would like to preface this by saying my family has been in hospitality for over 30 years and are seasoned high-end culinary professionals. I am appalled at the experience my parents received from Sierra Mar and Post Ranch Inn staff. Sorry they were just passing through and didn't book a room at the hotel? Why open your restaurant to the public if you are just going to provide subpar and, frankly, unacceptable service? From the moment my parents entered they were unwelcome and they have never had such a jarring experience at a five star establishment. The staff, particularly their server + a hotel front desk receptionist, treated them as an inconvenience. My parents are in their mid 60's, kind, and very soft spoken people, so for them to feel so disregarded is heartbreaking — not to mention that they saw the same staff members going above and beyond for hotel guests staying on the actual grounds. The way both my parents recounted the details of the experience had me completely shocked by how thoroughly horrible it was, and that they were consistently let down by poor service from employees, and again, their server. He actually gaslit them when my parents asked for their wine. He forgot to bring it as their meal was served, and he did not listen to my mom's preferences about the type of wine she likes. So not only did he ignore the type of wine, he didn't even give it to her once she settled on one she didn't like since she was obviously getting on his nerves — and then gaslit both my parents by saying she never asked for her wine. Ridiculous! This was my parents 37th wedding anniversary and my mom's birthday. I hate that they felt overlooked and guilty for annoying the server because they were let down by HIS unprofessionalism. On top of that, they were given the worst and tiniest table in the house with no view other than the server's station. They also were being pressured and rushed to leave as there was a corporate party coming in. Truly a terrible experience.
