Bought a piece of Dutch apple to go last week. The bottom crust was very thick and completely mushy. The crumble on top had turned into a rubbery consistency that stretched like melted mozzarella cheese. I tried to eat it 5 minutes after ordering it. The best I can say is the apples were palatable.

First off, you can't go wrong with the Schat's name. This family is synonymous throughout northern California & Nevada for great quality with value. My wife and I are big fans of Schat's Bakery in Carson City NV, so coming back from a Death Valley trip we of course were going to try their Roadhouse in Bishop, and yes the place resembles an old west roadhouse. I had the veggie sandwich: very fresh, huge & delish. Cathy had the basic burger (outstanding, though we heard later from friends she SHOULD have ordered the Gobbler). Fries too, they were the best. Drinks & all & a nice indoor atmosphere looking out the big window on Hwy 395, I think the bill was under $40. And our take-home package was half of what we ordered...stuffed! Its a must-stop, easy parking in a big lot too.
Flavorful, size-able burgers . Friendly staff and casual atmosphere with live music. We always stop here, usually twice, when in Bishop.

The menu has a good variety. I got the Hot Shot Burger, good flavor, a little sloppy but delicious. Had sweet potato fries on the side, so good but so much they cooled down before I could eat them all.? It's definitely a place to try if you're in Bishop.

Had the roasted chicken, black beans and corn salad. Excellent! The black beans were rather bland, but mixed with the corn salad and pico, it made for good side item.
We were coming back from Vegas and stopped in bishop. Saw this place and it's the best ribs I've had in a restaurant ? ? amd the potato salad is amazing. They should sell it I'd buy it !!!
