Why when one buys a loaf of bread at the old Rite Aid shopping center the cash register inquires if you want to leave a tip? This is for doing their job and ringing up a loaf of bread. Although I do like the bread, I question their business practices. Are they going to load the bread into my car? Tipping is for services rendered, not for someone who just does their job. A good friend of mine worked on the satellites that cellular phones work off of, he questioned me one day, "Where is my tip for building these satellites every time someone makes a phone call." Last time I was in there, a man who worked the register talked to a woman for 2 minutes and 15 second while I waited at the register. After making me wait, the register still inquires if I want to leave a tip. Product = Excellent, Service very questionable.

Great local bakery, really loved that their sandwiches are made fresh on the spot to order, so you know there’s not loads of food waste. They also use for the vast majority paper and card packaging. Both unlike the other bakery in town which was mountains of single use plastic on the shelves of prepared sandwiches, surely too many to sell. I highly recommend the Great Basin Bakery sandwiches on sourdough, I loved the feta and spinach croissant and then the chocolate orange scone was super fluffy and mega tasty. Great for a climbing crag brekkie and lunch to take with you. They also have some nice locally made sauces and honey and had some yummy veggie options.

Random stop here while waiting for our car to charge. Food was terrific and my picky eating kiddos loved the sandwich.

Always a treat to come here and eat, love the bagels and pastries! Good lunch options, a bit small inside and can be busy at times but well worth the wait.

The best places are in small towns off the beaten path. Amazing cookies and breads. I love the cookies because they aren't overly sweet. The flavors are balanced and it doesn't taste like the only ingredient is corn syrup. Highly recommend! And apparently my cat Chester is a lemon cookie fan!

The owner listened and got everyone into shape. The results were immediate and that's commendable and impressive. There was never a need to go to the competition and nor will there ever be.

My favorite place to get breakfast in Bishop. I always make a stop here for some bagels & Sierra Mud cookies. The employees are so nice. Plenty of street parking in the neighborhood.

Food pretty great. Service pretty grumpy, disinterested. The staff does not inspire me to visit regularly. Would love to encounter pleasant and cheerful folks who seem to want to help out a customer if needed...just sayin.

This is an insider spot. If you’re reading this, you’ve stumbled onto something very good. We heard about this place from a Forest Service naturalist guide who really knew his stuff. And he was right. Excellent bread, pies and more. To top it off, we accidentally left a pair of keys there and they arranged to send them back without hesitation. Above and beyond.Parking: Easy and safe.

Believe the reviews. This place has fantastic sandwiches on soft, delicious, freshly baked bread! Fair prices too. Everyone going through Bishop should try this place instead of the chains.

We popped into this bakery while googling sandwich shops for our long road trip. Service was quick, and the Mt. Tom, Roast beef sandwich, and BLAT were delicious. We will be visiting GB Bakery again. Some outdoor seating available.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, and most sandwiches were dairy-free without trying.
