I stopped in for lunch on a rainy day on the recommendation of a friend. I was not the only solo diner, which always feels like a good sign. The fish was super fresh, the man working the counter incredibly friendly. Will go back.

The calamari fries were soggy, cold and not seasoned and they charge $$ for it. when you are near the ocean you expect fresh sea food and this was the opposite.

We ordered on a Monday around 2:30 pm. After ordering, we watched nearly everyone around us receive their food- including people who arrived well after we did.
When we asked the person delivering food why others were being served first, he said he “just delivers the food.” No one offered to check on our order or communicate what was going on. It was two fish and chips, chicken tenders , and a chowder . It was not a huge order.
After more than 40 minutes, we went to the cashier. That’s when we were told our order was either never put in or possibly given away. They then said they had someone else’s fish and chips ready, but the rest of our order would require waiting even longer. We were there with kids and didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes, so we asked for a refund.
When we left, the entire restaurant was full of people eating who had arrived after us. No one apologized at any point. The staff appeared inexperienced and completely unsure how to handle the situation. They really should have immediately offered the food they had ready to go and a refund.
There really needs to be a better system in place. even something as simple as table numbers or order tracking because this was a total breakdown in basic service.
We live nearby and come to the coast often, but we won’t be coming back here again.
