“So happy to see this Cafe open and under new owners. Outstanding fresh selection of pastries and espresso drinks. Very nice people too. Great location on Hwy 1, just north of the busy town of Bodega Bay before you get to the campground. I'll be back with my cycling buddies often. (Hrs: 8:30-2:30, Tuesday through Sunday). Check out their Beehive Danish. I'm getting that next time.”
“Some of the best coffee cake I’ve ever had. Clearly fresh made, tangy, not to sweet, and perfectly spiced and filling. Coffee was good too! The woman working was very nice and efficient. Would recommend if you’re in Bodega Bay!”
“Delightful seafood specials with large giant cooked crabs, sweet potato fries, fresh fried fish and chips, calamari, smoked salmon, absolutely out of this world taste. My daughter loves the dishes, especially grilled cheese sandwiches. Family favorite.”
“Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the clam chowder, fish stew (better of the two), and delicious crab sandwiches. The sandwiches were the highlight with lots of crab served on quality buns with a hint of dill from the sauce. Parking is limited and the line can get long, but the food and the staff are excellent!”
“I stopped by for lunch on a sunny day and this was a home run. The Hitchcock wink just gilds this very pleasant spot. The Birds sits right off the water with multiple levels of scenic, outdoor seating wrapped around the little kitchen where you order and pick up. Pass the single stall bathroom, and you'll find an adjacent building set up as a coffee shop. The menu is simple, but effective. Fish Tacos: Loved them. The fish has a light, crisp batter. They're served with shredded cabbage, fresh pico de gallo, and an avocado sauce on top. Two hearty tacos to an order and so good. Artichoke Fritters: I know this is county fair food, but I loved these. I thought they might be heavy, but they were actually pretty crunchy, frilly, and delicate. They're good with the ranch on the side and a little hot sauce. The portion is honestly giant which is fun. I took my leftovers home and enjoyed them again that night!”
“We've been excited to try Huria's pizza for a while now and finally got the chance this weekend while visiting the area. The pizza was delicious, but I have to say it's the chocolate cake I will be dreaming about! That was maybe the best piece of cake I've ever had! Hurrah to the Huria family! Looking forward to next time :)”
“You have to go here if you visit Bodege Bay. We are obsessed with this place. Some of the biggest ice cream scoops I have ever had. Captain Davey himself works behind the counter and he does not fool around. He was giving it his all scooping ice cream for me and making amazing coffee with his very nice-looking espresso machine. If I lived here I would come once a week. This is a small place and its only one man so if you can go in the middle of the day you will avoid a line. There is not a lot of seating. The hot dog place next door let us use their bathroom.”
“The new England clam chowder is one of the best I've ever had in my life. The crab sandwich was absolutely fantastic. The view is great. Bring a coat if it is windy at all.”
“You know you’re at a good joint when the owner is joyfully roaming around enjoying the customers, both local and those on vacation. The steak sandwich and bottomless is phenomenal! Tourist locations are supposed to all be stuffy right? Wrong”
“Lana did an amazing job creating our perfect carrot cake. Our communication was thru email as we did not live in the area. She made our 1 year wedding anniversary cake/gender reveal cake all in one. It was perfect for the two of us. Super delicious and very elegant. We loved it! Thank you Lana!”
“This was a surprise! I didn't even know this is what I wanted to eat...lol. We grabbed a pesto and basil pizza to start and it was the perfect amount of cheese and flavors...paired with wine and pliney, we continued on with the cauliflower that was out of this world and the decadent paella! Wow! We'll be back. Service was great too...didn't hurt we had a front row seat to the bay...but the pizza is the one and only pic I took! That says a lot.”
“Food and service is excellent. Some Inside tables have ants but otherwise clean. Probably due to spilled sugar. My favorite place for chowder, fish and chips in the area.”
“The food here was hot and delicious. The upper seating area was cozy, and the bar was chic and casual. Our server, who was new and had moved from Alabama to California in 2020, was gracious and wonderful. Many thanks to him, and to the kitchen.”
“Gem of Bodega bay!! This restaurant was very delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious including the torta, tacos and burrito. The family that owned the restaurant were all very kind and did a great job answering all our questions since it was our first time. The location is great, the restaurant is decorated very cute. They had great music playing and the kiddos were able to be kids and enjoy themselves.”
“Awesome food and really lovely people. The grilled prawns and clam chowder were so delish. There was easy open seating, a relaxed outdoor casual atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again.”
“My favorite spot in the area - exceptional food! The crab sandwich is a must, as is the chowder. This is my #1 of 5 chowders I have tried in the area. The crab is prepared with light mayonnaise and lemon juice so the crab is the highlight. The toasted bread with the melted havarti make this sandwich a standout! Very friendly staff and nice rustic location on the water. The crab traps in the parking lot next door give a fishing village vibe. I look forward to returning.Visited after a high 50s morning at Doran Beach - AWESOME DAY!”
“Upon entering, we were greeted by a very kind and professional gentleman working in the fireside lounge on 4/15, who got us seated outside of his section so we could have the table we most desired.Proceeded to be served by Hallie, who was professional yet very personable. We were going to share salad and soup, but she recomended the pork chop and luckily we took her suggestion and added it on.Quick shout-out to the busser, perfect timing and we were never without whatever we needed.Okay, this pork chop. It was absolutely perfect. Ive never had anything like it. I was convinced it was sous vide but our server said they were just commited to ensuring it didnt come put dry.Youre missing out if you dont stop by to try it, and recieve some of the best service around.”
“Tried the scallops and fries and it was rather lackluster. The scallops are rather small and was a little rubbery, and the oil was a little old, the batter was also a little too thick. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic, however for the keto traveller the portion is way too small for breakfast or lunch unless you were to get 2 or 3 portions.”
“Oceanside shopping, restaurants, boat docks in Bodega Bay. Nice gift store and two choices for food. Also, there is an extensive fish market. Worth the stop. Views are stunning.”
“I have been going to River’s end restaurant for almost two decades and have always loved the experience. This time, I decided to stay a few days at the new Home collection lodging and the getaway was completely remarkable. I will make sure to come back more often in order to unplug and relax completely in this paradisiacal getaway.”
“This place is a hidden gem! Everything we have tried has been delicious! The people who work there are so nice and lovely to talk to despite the place being super busy on the weekend. Every time we are around that area we stop at wild flour.”
“A perfect cafe, if such a thing can exist. Warm, wonderful, artful space with cool art and a great outdoor space. A great Skatepark right next to the cafe surrounded by redwood trees. The owners are the sweetest couple, the food is SO GOOD. Try the Beach Laffa, you’ll be glad you did. This is the only place in a 50 mile radius that can make a perfect Oatmilk cappuccino.”
“Absolutely love this place! Fresh, local ingredients. Pizzas are creative and so flavorful. The gluten free one was just as good as the regular! Worth the drive!”
“The pizza was delicious!! We were a little confused about how to order, but figured it out. It's a walk-up counter and you order at the window. We were there on a Thursday, so could only order slices of pizza, but the slices are very generous. We also got a fresh loaf of sour dough bread, meatballs, and pasta salad. The food was all so good! We ordered glasses of wine while we waited the 10-15 minutes for our order. Cute spot in downtown Tomales.”
“Tons of sandwich options! Mine was delicious, the artichoke sauce really hit (which is not a sentence I usually say). Cute indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff”
“A really well made breakfast sandwich. Incredibly clean & well cared for interior. Super friendly & helpful staff. Excellent cappuccino. I'm never not going to stop here. ??”
“Foam on the short pull espresso was phenomenal paired alongside a Nutella croissant topped with toasted almonds and powder sugar on a Tuesday morning followed by a brief read of a book. Nothing like the patio where it all conjured a memorable experience. May this place remain a gem on the way to the Oceanside.”
“Located on the bank of the Russian River, next to the highway, with limited parking spaces, beautiful scenery, water and sky. Eat lunch while watching waterfowl hunting.Parking: Slow down in advance on the roadside to see if there is a parking space”
“Really nice people working here. We were so happy to find something that had outdoor seating and was dog friendly during a weekend where rain was heavy and often. Parking is limited and lotsa tourists around. Park at the cute country store and buy a soda and then go over to Estero. Great menu, lots of little creative dishes and the service was so nice and friendly and sweet. Well run, deliciously satisfying food, cooked well, and lots of crab based specials that looked awesome. On a quiet part of Highway 1, go here and be impressed and well taken care of. Thanks for the delicious coffee and food!”
“A tiny gem of a restaurant tucked away in Bodega Bay. Our very pleasant hostess Julia was cognizant of our dietary needs and offered excellent entree alternatives. Their bread pudding is to die for. Turned out to be a very pleasant, albeit impromptu Easter experience for us.”
