Drakes Fireside Lounge

First visit from out of town. Enjoyed our visit. Wife had the duroc porkchop and I hadthe Blick rice bowl with haddock.

Great food but we had to wait almost an hour for our food to arrive. And the place was not crowded at all. Totally unacceptable.

Overall disappointing experience. Started with a very odd window table arrangement which required you to sit at an angle to one another (2 people) and stare at the reflective windows. Oysters were small and had parts of shell. Mains were ok, halibut was over cooked and we found a pice of plastic in one dish. Service was hit and miss. Disappointing and didn't stand up to what is a great hotel.

Not too good. The pesto bucatini was uninspired. The hamachi crudo was old and fishy tasting. We sent it back. The tapioca desert was good. I would not recommend this expensive restaurant.

Given that this is considered one of the “best” restaurants in Bodega Bay, we were extremely disappointed. We've been RV camping at Doran for over 20 years and used to frequent this place often before Drakes took over. Unfortunately, the prices are now outrageous for the quality of food. Service was fine but clearly short-staffed, so we waited quite a while for our Sunday “brunch,” — which turned out to be the same as their regular breakfast menu. My over-easy eggs were cooked hard, and the potatoes were overly crispy — and this was at 9:30 a.m. Don't bother, unless you are staying at this overpriced hotel and it's included....

I had the rock cod sandwich (no bread) with chips and coleslaw. It was good. My husband had the chef salad and it also was good. Our friends had the cuban sandwich and the caesar salad with chicken and they both enjoyed their meals. It was great to meet up at Drakes because we could talk and it was not loud.

October 28, 2025 is the 3rd year we've celebrated our anniversary at Drakes Sonaoma. We going back which means this restaraunt is Fantastic. Everyone from the the Host/Hoestess, to the bussers want to do thier best for us. We are remembered by all each time and they stop by our table to wish us the best. Like being visited by family. Love it. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality food received.

We love to come to Drake's for special events. We sat at a table overlooking the spectacular view. Our server was fabulous. She enthusiastically recommended/approved our selections. She contributed to our enjoyment greatly. The food itself was fantastic. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed the halibut, clams and pork cops. Each dish was exquisitely prepared. The prices are high enough that we save visits to Drake's for very special events. Our experience made the special event very special indeed!

Had the pleasure of staying on the property and hit the restaurant and bar a few times. You must make a reservation to sit in the dining area for dinner. Bar seating and outside is FCFS and we enjoyed the bar just fine. Drinks a couple nights were off the charts - I believe Nick was bartending. Other night was just average. Shrimp and artichoke dip should be illegal, it is so good. You might consider not sharing it! The steak was great. I feel the real winner is the breakfast. Everything was amazing. Salmon benedict was crazy because the salmon was so good. Huevos Rancheros was killer and the salsa was perfect. French toast kills the sweet tooth and matched perfect with the savory things if you like to share. Only downside was there tended to be a bunch of loud babies and kids in the bar and outside. That was not relaxing. Live music was a big plus.

This was for a post engagement dinner. They did offer complimentary wine which is nice, but they sat us right next to a party of more than 15 people mixed of parents and young children. The kids were running between the 2 booths but mostly were gathered around 1 table, and the parents were standing with their backs to our table. We did ask to move after 10-15 minutes. A very special occasion, host could have accommodated better in the first place. Food was good, but not crazy great.

There was a table with six children under the age of five. They were there and from 7 PM until 9 PM. And they were completely out of control. Most people moved, but we got stuck sitting too close.

Not our first dinner at Drakes. Then and now excellent food, service and ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit to the Lodge so we can enjoy dinner there.

The dinners we had were wonderful. A shout out to our server, Thomas. He was welcoming and very efficient.. A delightful dining experience.

We live in Sebastopol and always bring our out of town guests to Drake's. It's always a pleasure, the staff is great, the food and ambience is always outstanding, and we always have a lovely time. Thank you!
