The Bay View | Restaurant & Lounge

I will be telling everyone what a wonderful place this is! The food was FABULOUS! The wait staff was Attentive without being obtrusive. All this and a lovely view of the bay. I can't wait to go back!

Great service, cocktails, and excellent food with delicious local ingredients. Lovely bay view and quiet ambiance, which was nice for conversation. We appreciated the server's attentiveness and the hostess coming by our table to check if we were happy with our meal and if we needed anything. Would definitely dine there again.

Service and food were very good. We enjoyed our cocktails, the soup tasting, crab egg rolls and the salmon with a caper lemon sauce. For Bodega Bay it is the best restaurant around and we will return when in the area.

On Friday, June 27th, we had the pleasure of dining at The Bay View Restaurant in Bodega Bay, CA. There were 3 of us and we all had something different - we started with amazing crab rolls, followed by caesar salad and our main courses were: Petrale Sole stuffed, Pan Seared Fillet of Salmon Picatta and Seafood Pasta. We topped it off with a fresh baked apple pie, made by in-house pastry chef. The service was great as was the bay view. We would absolutely recommend the Bay View and will be back again.

The best meal we have had in a very long time, and without a doubt, the best piece of fish I have ever eaten. I had the halibut but the short ribs were equally amazing.

This place has great food we go often—but the last couple of times it has been strange at checkin with hostess—pretty sure they must have no help and new waiters because the restaurant can be Half EMPTY and they make people wait for a table. So strange — all I can think of — We checked in 5 minutes before our reservation and ANNA was very rude made us sit in a chair and when I said we will go to the bar she was not happy and told us the bartender wasn't ready—it was 6:15pm. The bartender had an attitude at first but softened up eventually and made us a drink. The food was good—the place was dead—the music was weird all over the place. Honestly—I'd skip it next visit and drive to DRAKE'S down the road! So much better service and great food.

It was a wonderful experience here at Bay View! From the service to the food, everything was exquisite.

The food was terrific but the service was the best part. Great views, lovely live piano music, and smiley, knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. All so good!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at the Bay View Restaurant in Bodega Bay. Everything I had was great. My wife and I started with the soup sampler: lobster chowder, mushroom soup and onion gratinee. My main course was swordfish with a bit of kimchee and glass noodles, and my wife's was Coq Au Vin. I think that was the best fish entree I've had in quite a while. We shared a strawberry panna cotta for dessert. The view of Bodega Bay is ok but not spectacular. The food makes up for it.

Great food and cocktails. Anna the hostess was helpful and friendly and Raul our server was amazing. We will definitely be eating here again.

I'm struggling to write this review as we had good food and good service. We were a bit taken aback about the dining room when we arrived and almost left. It left us both with an odd feeling; kind of like an afterthought with the chairs and tables. The room is in serious need of a remodel and is dark and dank. The food, however, was quite good. I had a nice piece of swordfish with a medley of veg. Waiter was very attentive and the manager stopped by to see if we need anything. I would encourage you to try it and not be put off by the atmosphere. You can request a window table so you have a view of the water.

$58 crab stuff steak. Do not go big, go home and make your own steak because this was not a fillet mignon. Taste more like a choice cut from Walmart. Mashed potatoes, focaccia and veggies were delicious. Two stars out of five.
