We stopped here when we were out to look at the metal sculptures and look for desert life and it was an excellent decision. I had the Mole Poblano Enchiladas, my boyfriend had their new Carnitas Plate special. The food was delicious! The mole sauce for the enchiladas was perfect, and my boyfriend said his carnitas were cooked better than anywhere he's tried - just falling apart - he didn't even need the green sauce that came with them because the flavor was too good...
Has been a perennial go to place for us over the 20 years of our frequent visits to town. I realize the place has had a change in ownership late. The atmosphere and staff friendliness remains after the change, however the menu doesn't seem to carry forward the selections and gastronomic goodness of past years. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium in order to sample the non-Mex side of the menu. Burger was cooked beyond well and served dry and cold with unmelted cheese...
Food and service were quick. The waiter confirmed our choice of tequila for the margaritas and made sure to offer black beans or refried with our meals. The portion sizes were large and so were the sour cream and guacamole. Our party of 5 left full and satisfied. Great meal and service, price to be expected due to the remote location.
