Flavorless burrito

2 words. Cash only.

For such a slow area I would take any business I could get. But to be cash only is beyond me

If you've been to any version of the Albertos restaurant, this is almost the same. Looks/tastes the same (not a favorite). Chile verde burrito was tasty but fell apart 2 minutes into eating. The best thing they have is Thrifty ice cream!! It's not bad given the limited places to eat in the area, especially when most are closed mid week or close early, just wasn't a fave. Service is friendly though, and you can self-serve as much salsa as you want, so that's a plus.

Every time I eat here it gives me diarrhea! You think I would learn after the two times I've ate here salsas taste funny, low quality carne asada. I'm so done with this place. The price of the food here is ridiculously high for what quality you get.

The food is absolutely amazing, especially their horchata and tacos. Be aware this place is cash only, no exceptions.
The staff is not welcoming or inviting, to where they would put bags of food down on the counter and not announce which order the bag belongs to. But the food is worth it.

I’m not really happy with this place And it didn’t matter if I got the plate or just a burrito that used to burn my chorizo burritos and I can’t stand that So then I used to get a ham egg and cheese burrito so instead of just ham egg and cheese burrito they used to want to put potato in there too and then when I said no potato they look at you like Your weird and they don’t make it easy it’s cash only my friend insisted on eating here again and it took her three different times going back into the restaurant Reminding the lady that she had one more burrito to make she told her three different times ham egg and cheese burrito and they still put potatoes in it a cheap filler and that’s all you could taste was potatoe no more they will never see a penny from me again

Good grief! I have been coming to Borrego for over 30 years and somehow Los Jilbertos escaped my notice. We live in Oceanside, not lacking good Mexican food but wow! Los Jilbertos has the right recipe for very delicious food. My son and I are thunderstruck by the quality. It is clear that care and effort goes into this offering. We did not need more reason to come to Borrego but you have added one. Such good food. Chef’s kiss!
