Definitely not what it was when I lived in BC. I was there on a Friday night and unfortunately they no longer have outside seating. There was a huge party, maybe 16 people, it was so loud the people on table next to them was holding their ears. The restrooms are out back behind the restaurant, the ceiling is riddled with grand daddy long leg spiders and webs above the toilet.

Tae's has consistently been a great place for sushi in SLV. Am grateful that he's survived the post Covid slump. Jumbo Roll and Lion King are our faves. Tae is so kind and friendly and always makes you feel welcome. Thanks Tae!

The restaurant is very nice and clean on the inside. The service was good and more importantly the food was delicious. I would definitely come here again if i'm in the area. the sushi rolls are hearty and the teriyaki salmon had the perfect amount of sauce.

Tiny pieces of
Sushi for the price. Go to Otoro 's Sushi in Scotts Valley...much bigger pieces for the price.

Odd experience. Would not go again. Owner is there being sociable and watching sports, but doing no actual work. Sous chefs seem resentful of the power dynamic and the lack of work that the owner does. Wife of the owner is effusive to the point that I worry about her well being. Sushi was decent, but not worth the price, and no variety or complexity was offered.

Got my food for take out, gyoza amd the Boulder Creek Roll, both were super fresh and amazing. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

This place is a gem in little Boulder Creek. I am from Hawaii and have had a lot of sushi in my life. This place has great rolls with good variety and delicious signature rolls. I especially love their crunch rolls. It always feels good to support a local business too. We are so lucky to have this in such a small town.

This place was awful! They overstuff their rolls with that fake crab mush, to make it appear as if the rolls are large, but this is just a cheap trick. The actual amount of fresh fish is almost nil. Super thin and tiny slivers of lukewarm, low quality, rubbery fish. Nice try… skimpy at best.
I have no idea why there are so many positive reviews? Do these 5 star reviewers even know what quality sushi looks or tastes like? I guess not? I’m really forced to question these rave reviews…
I also ordered a roll with just tuna and rice, and each piece of roll was so tiny! I don’t even think that it was a full roll? 4 tiny cut pieces? There was barely any fish inside, and it wasn’t fresh. That proves what I’m writing here.
The actual fish wasn’t fresh and was rubbery. If you’re looking for tender, high quality fish, don’t expect it here. They like to focus on their tasteless, fake crab, mushy garbage. That’s what your expensive rolls will mostly contain, and it’s NOT good.
The sushi rice wasn’t made right either. It was just some bland white rice, and not made in the traditional way.
The room has horrible acoustics and is very loud! There weren’t many people in the room. The server pretty much forgot everything, and it all took forever to get.
This entire experience was atrocious. Their prices are also outrageous for the tiny amount of fish that are in or on their rolls.
The owner only interacted with people that she seemed to know, cackling loudly, and over performing her “friendliness”. If you weren’t someone that she knew, you were completely ignored. Very unprofessional.
I won’t be returning. What a complete ripoff, and a completely awful experience.
Stop skimping on your fish…that’s what people are paying for. Well, you would need to get higher quality fish to begin with. That fake crab garbage isn’t supposed to be the main ingredient in sushi rolls! Shame on this place.
