Do NOT judge this book by its cover! The food is delicious! It used to be good and now it's amazing. I don't know why. Maybe different cook? I don't know. I just know that it's delicious. We used to deal with China Inns's ridiculously long waiting times because we liked the food more but now, hands down, Peony Pavilion is the go to place. The decor leaves so much to be desired, and the colors are not that great but it's better than the Pepto Bismol...
I recently tried the Mongolian beef lunch special at this Chinese restaurant and it was good. The beef was tender and the sauce had a kick to it. The portion size was decent and paired with a side of rice. That's all I needed.
I’ve been coming down to Brawley every summer for the last five years to work on our summer projects. I saw this Chinese restaurant and decided it’s finally time to give it a try - year #5. I didn’t expect much since this is Brawley but boy was I wrong. The food were delicious with ginormous portion and it’s authentic Chinese food not Panda Express. It became our go to place while we’re in town. My crew and I find ourselves going back for dinner at least 2 times a week....
