We stayed there on Wednesday Sept 24,2025. The room was infested with FLIES, the walls and ceiling in the room were covered with flies it was the most grotesque experience. I know I personally wacked flies all night with the bath towels. I must of killed over 60 flies. Our friends stayed there also in separate rooms. The ceiling of one of the rooms were covered with flies and the third room was just as bad. We couldn’t even sleep and everything else in Bridgeport had no vacancies. Then breakfast same thing happened, flies all over the restaurant, landing on your food and face while your trying to eat. I personally lost my appetite. Worst experience ever!!!!
We stopped for breakfast while we were heading home. It was very good food and the service was great.
Nothing in this town. Restaurants hardly open, very expensive, lousy hotel bed, noisy room. Wouldn't go there again.
Oh my gosh, we loved this Inn. It’s very old and so quaint. If you like new and modern, you probably should pass but if you like unique places, this is the place for you. The staff is so friendly, the food absolutely delicious and having an old fashioned room was just so fun. This is where you’ll find the locals having coffee in the morning and where the bikers stay. We got their very last room. I just can’t express how much we enjoyed our visit here.
Love the history this amazing place brings to the area!
We didn't stay at the hotel but had a lunch at the bar. The building is a beautiful historic Victorian Inn. The whole atmosphere and ambiance is very authentic. Very nice friendly people, great service and food - gives you a feeling of being home, with your family ♥️♥️♥️ It's definitely a place to come back to.
Definitely for the tourist.
Kind of pricey for what you get. Service was uninterested.
This establishment should get 0 Stars.
First night deposit was paid when reservation was made online one month before check-in date. On date of check-in the merchant charged the remaining nights stay to my credit card. I thought that was unusual for a hotel establishment to charge for the whole stay upfront. I was told that it is their policy, citing their policy of “3 days (72 hours) before date of arrival” as the reasoning. I told them that that policy only applies to cancellation BEFORE check-in. They continued to base their reasoning for charging the full stay (all nights) up front on their cancellation policy. This was the first red flag.
The room was filthy, hair on the floor, on beds and on the bar soap, dirt and algae in the corners of the bathroom; gray, dingy towels that were supposed to be white; severe hot and cold-water fluctuations; slippery and dangerous bathtub surfaces (I slipped and nearly injured myself taking a shower); loud thumping noises in the walls at night, and the TV did not work (we called the front desk several times on the first night to ask them to send someone to fix the TV, and no one came all night).
Our friends who were on the trip with us stayed in the motel section of the Bridgeport Inn. Their water in the shower would not even turn on at all. When they called the front desk to address the water problem they were told rudely by the front desk representative “Do you think I’m a plumber?” Also, the door to their room would not lock.
After two nights of stay, I checked out early, citing all the reasons above, and asked the front desk to credit my credit card for 3 nights. The management told me “No Refund”, and continued to cite their 3 day cancellation policy as the reason. They were extremely rude and condescending. I told them that it's clear their strategy is to charge the whole amount of stay upfront in order to refuse credit to patrons when they request early check out due to disgusting conditions and rude, disrespectful management.
This establishment should not be allowed to be in business.
I've been at the restaurant only. Recommend!
No hot water for 2 days. I upgraded my room to have a private bathroom. I repeatedly notified the management that the shower had no hot water. It never was fixed. I was repeatedly promised that the owner would call and things would be made right. The owner never called. I believe the owner knew the room's shower had no hot water but still chose to rent it anyway.

Edited: The managed refuses to speak with me regarding my issue. He sent out a really rude waitress to tell me nothing can be done till the night shift staff that served me come back on. I suspect they will not be returning my money. I would definitely NOT eat or stay here. The food is bad and the customer service is non existent. I gave them one star bc there's no option for 0.
I spent $40 on a French dip, some okay fries, a basic salad, and a slice of cheesecake. Which, like, tbh, should be expected of these overpriced tourist traps, so that's not my issue. My issue is, I left after spending that much on this meal, only to discover, they'd forgotten my overpriced cheesecake slice 🙃 I went back and was greeted with the whole, bless your heart, I do apologize, act, ect. Anyways, I get to my camp spot and realize, well, what do you know? My French dip is somehow also missing the dip. I feel like the last you could do is provide the basics of the meal I paid for, but maybe that's just asking for too much.
Great food. Stopped for dinner. Service was quick and the sweet potato fries were delicious!
Regarding the restaurant: Food and service were both excellent. We ordered some drinks which were also very good. A huge shout-out to Karina. She was so helpful and attentive. Thank you Karina!
After reading previous reviews, I decided to go with the older, quaint lodgings as I love history. From check in to check out staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed upstairs in original building. The room was clean and well equiped, I knew there was no microwave or fridge, but enjoyed the feeling of staying in a room in the 1800s. The remodels and furnishings have been well done to modernize but keep the antique theme. Restaurant service and food were excellent. Few drawbacks, shower temp effected by other rooms to the point of constant adjustment, floor into room changes level with no warning, minor things like that. Best of all was friendliness of staff.
I stayed in the main building. This may be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in in the United States. There was long hair on the floor, on the beds (two twin beds, hardest hotel beds I've ever had), there was hair in the shower before I even got in, there was a spider in the corner of the shower, the bathroom sink faceuts were almost impossible to turn on or turn off. The shower turned from ice cold to scalding hot, with no rhyme or reason. I tried multiple different things to get the shower temp steady and nothing worked. During one of these attempts, the shape of the tub caused my foot to slide forword and nearly slice myself on the drain plug.
It says it is historic, but it just feels old and run down. I did not try any of the food, so I cannot comment on their food.
