From the first bite of Growlers juicy fall-off-the-bone ribs I knew I was tasting the best of California Central Coast style barbecue! (often called Santa Maria bbq). The owner, Will is a master of the style – slow cook open pit and it’s all about the smoke, no sauce needed. The chicken is absolutely the best I have ever had. I now plan my trips to the east side around Growlers!

Folks this is Le Growlers at Le Bridgeport where they charge you 2 dollars for water. No tap/regular water. Even French restaurants in France offer the option of non bottled water.Food is served in styrofoam boxes. In my case bbq sauce was all mixed up with beans. On top of that they have the temerity to ask for tips. Food was ok but not worth $20 + tip .Stay away from this rip off.

I stopped for lunch while passing through during an Eastern Sierra camping & fishing adventure. I met Will, and ordered the BBQ chicken... WOW! - what an excellent choice! I'm not a foodie, but this may have been the most amazing BBQ chicken I've ever had! Will will offer you BBQ sauce, but it's definitely not needed, as the chicken is spiced just right, cooked perfectly, and is extremely juicy! It was so good, I stopped by 4 days later for the tri-tip, but they were sold out! A second round of chicken it was! I will definitely be back, and will likely plan another motorcycle ride across Ebbetts Pass or Sonora Pass just for lunch at the Growlers! Thanks Will, the chicken was incredible!

Been here in 2012 with my family for a 10 days tour of western usa. We’re Italians.I had the best pastrami and fries of my life.Don’t know if the management changed, but I’ll never forget Bridgeport nor this place.

Don’t blink as you pass through Bridgeport, because you’ll miss this great little place! Growler’s Eatery (attached to Big Meadow Brewery) is fabulous! We initially stopped in for a beer while staying the night in Bridgeport, but quickly reaped by watching the food come out of growlers that we needed to stay for dinner too! A huge hamburger (no frozen patty here!) with chips and the in house pulled pork covered tater tots (which also had beer cheese, bacon, tomatoes and other goodness on them) was dinner as we enjoyed chatting with locals and enjoying a few beers from the brewery. A perfect way to end a very long day of travel (from Florida!)

I'm very satisfied
Ordered the tritip bbq mostly because it was about the only thing they weren’t out of, and a beef taco. This cost $35 and got us a styrofoam box with a plastic fork. The food was tolerable but I’d have done about as well to get a can of stew at the gas station and nuke it at the motel. Wouldn’t eat here again. Nice people, though.
Real good food!

Great food! We got the bbq pork sandwich w/chips. It was huge. Loaded tots had a delicious homemade cheese sauce. The ribs were so tender the meat just pulled right off the bone. Tasty surprise in this little town.
Great food, craft beer, and service. Best beer in Bridgeport!
Friendly staff and the best food in town!
No dogs, even on patio. They said it's a liability. Their choice of course. But why not?
Burgers and loaded tots! Amazing! So delicious, a must try if you are headed through Bridgeport!
