California Tacos Cantina and Distillery

So good!! We had asada and carnitas street tacos and Chile verde burrito and were blown away. PLUS the Cali margarita is perfect, 3 ingredients to allow the tequila to shine. Tortillas were tender and amazing. The patiois covered making a great place for well behaved dogs to dine with you. Highly recommend!

Food here is really delicious. I almost didn’t wait, the waiter was friendly and nice, it’s clean and stylish inside. Just in case you order guacamole, be ready to pay $14 for it (they didn’t put it in menu). That’s why this review is only 4 stars, not 5. But everything else is great, I would definitely recommend

Good service. Excellent tortillas and chips made fresh in house. And the salsa was great as well!

However I can't say the same thing about the tacos. Both the pollo and asada were extremely salty, chewy and tough. Clearly the meat was all prepared days ago, sitting in a salty pool of marinade, heated up again and again.

If you want some drinks, chips and salsa then this is a wonderful spot! If you want a proper meal however you will need to look elsewhere.

Was just in with my husband and our 4 small kids, one of which is a baby. The waitress handed my husband the check with the total not including gratuity. After running his credit card she handed ME back the receipt to sign after she added 20% gratuity onto the check. I can only assume she was hoping we would not notice the difference from the original bill. I understand that occasionally gratuity is added on parties of 6 or more but this was a part of mostly small children and instead of adding 18% she added 20%. Incredibly sneaky. Will not be back.

Was surprised how bad the food was. Chips way over cooked, guacamole no flavor and crispy taco hardly any asada in it and shell fell apart and crumbled at 1st bite. Very disappointing meal.
Super slow service. Waiter did apologize and said they were short staffed.

The Filet Minion fajitas are delicious in addition to the strawberry arugula salad. We shared both with a couple of Pt. conceptions on tap. All delicious 😋

Great place for margaritas. Margarita special on Monday is hard to beat for the area. Highly recommend the California burrito. Excellent service every time I’ve been. If you’re in town I would give it a try.

Cal Tacos is pretty damm good. Always great food and margaritas. Service is awesome. Go by and enjoy.
