Tonos is a local treasure. Not fancy, just good Mexican food and atmosphere and the best and most authentic guacamole this side of the border. The camarones con hongos y ajo is excellent and flavorful, and the Juan chicken salad is a reliable and very filling standby. We've never had a bad meal here, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and like the guac, VERY authentically Mexican. Juan (owner) and Rosy (server) are the heart and soul of this place; we went every week with our Dad until he passed, but will never forget Juan & Rosy's kindness to our father as he started to decline, even unto Juan visiting Dad when he was in the hospital in his last lap of his life's race, and even gifted him a box of four of the expensive and heavy carved water glasses that Dad liked so much. The bathrooms are in dire need of a remodel, but that's the cheap landlord's fault, not the owner of the restaurant. Otherwise, we love this place. We stopped going several months ago when a couple took over as managers for Juan; they immediately tried to upscale the place, getting rid of old favorite menu items and jacking up prices on what remained, and adding more touristy items in an attempt to attract that demographic. Bless them, they hit every local social media page and pushed, pushed, and pushed to get people in there, but the locals mostly stopped going, us included. I did just hear tonight that Juan is back running the place, so we plan to go tomorrow!

Menudos good!!! The Rice wasn’t great at all. Not fluffy not Mexican rice made with love. Enchiladas were like a soup. I don’t know if these matter but I would be willing to try it again if these were improved!!! The tacos were good beef tacos! The chicken has great flavor! Beans could be cooked longer and mixed better!!

All i can say about the new Tonos in town is IMPRESSIVE, a great dining experience, clean. Staff courteous and helpful, reasonably priced. amd food awesome.. if you haven’t tried it you should, will definitely be back!

Stopped in and had a great dinner. Carne Asada was delicious. The in-house guacamole was very good. The deep fried ice cream for dessert was really good. Service was great.

our food was horrible. everything was old our salad and horchatas where bubbly. meat not seasoned, our food smelt gross as it was cooked in really old oil. the restaurant had no light on smelt horrible like straight MOLD! i don’t not recommend.

Cold chips, salsa tasted burnt and overall just bad. Food was edible. The server was nice but awol most of our visit. We had to wave him down for our check after waiting for 20 minutes. I don't recommend. The only good thing was the horchata.
