The place is clean and welcoming. The food here was amazing. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Katsu sandwich with curry dip was amazing. But you have to try the seasonal dishes like the eggplant sandwich and salmon bowl. If you’re looking for non heavy, comforting food, this is it!

Delicious little authentic Japanese business tucked in a small plaza. Cool hand painted menu adds character to the place. I usually order the the Pork Katsu Sandwich with curry dip on the side. Delicious! Friendly and nice customer service. Seating is limited and the parking lot is tight with compact spots. I’ve never had trouble finding a place to park or sit.

Not much to look in this tiny little place, but the food is delicious! Ordered the tofu bento box and kaigan chicken and both were excellent. The owner is sweet. Will definitely eat here again.

We had a lovely mackerel bento box. It’s a simple meal, but everything tasted fresh, delicious and absolutely crave-able. I’m going to make a point of coming back here next time I’m in the neighborhood.

The problem with this place is that the food is very, very, very salty. I don’t know how they serve customers this unbelievably salty food.

love

The chicken nanban was great! My only complaint is that by the time I had gotten it it home (about 5-6 mins), the Karage was no longer crispy! However, the nanban tartar sauce was very good, and made up for the lack of crunch.

The furikake being provided for you to take is a HUGE PLUS!

First time ordering here. Simple Japanese food, great for take out. We got Grilled Salmon and Ckn(white meat)Katsu Bento. Also some side dishes. Kinpira Gobo, Nishime and Ckn(dark meat) Karaage. Flavor is pretty legit, like old school Bento. Kinpira Gobo was abit on the too sweet, too soft side. Was excited about Tofu nuggets, but was not crispy as I imagined... more like Nimono. Overall recommend for lunch/dinner take out. No bathroom to use in the small seats restaurant. Potato salad tho... bomb! ?

Parking: Its in a very small plaza with 7/11 and other businesses like Ramen restaurant. Might be difficult to find free parking in the front.

The other day after work, I was looking for some authentic Japanese food. But I did not feel like Ramen or Sushi so I saw this on Yelp Neighborhood Bento. Wow this place was amazing and the owner was so nice and spent some time explaining to me each dish that I ordered. A lot of the vegetables were homegrown on their farm in Pico Rivera. Everything tasted so good. The service and ambience was so fast and excellent. I got to try the salmon bento box, the Katsu sandwich, and a few other items. I definitely will be back. This place is for sure. A golden gem hidden in Garden Grove.

$20 for a tray is crazy

This is an "everyday Japanese cuisine" restaurant, located in south Buena Park, at the intersection of Valley View and Cerritos. It's fairly authentic (I would know because my wife is Japanese and, incidentally, so is one of the owners of this place). It's a small place, and even though it has a few tables, it mostly caters to take-out customers.

My wife ordered the mackerel, and she liked it. She said it was good, but not the best she's ever had. Still, good and properly cooked with the right ingredients. She would give it 4 1/2 stars.

I had the Katsudon (pork cutlet bowl), and while it was authentic, it was also too salty, in my humble opinion (too much soy sauce, maybe?). So, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. Averaging out my rating and my wife's, I've decided to give this place 4 stars.

Service is good and prices are reasonable.

Got a fried fish bento and the oyakodon, both were really delicious! Will be back to try everything else, so I plan on making this a regular spot to eat (⌒▽⌒)
