Our server was very nice. Now the food! Was not good at all! I regretted choosing that place over all the other ones around. If you know authentic Mexican food then you will be disappointed.

La Huasteca at The Source is, without a doubt, the crown jewel of Mexican cuisine and hospitality. From the moment I stepped into this vibrant, welcoming restaurant, I knew I was in for something extraordinary, and I was not disappointed. This place has redefined what a dining experience should be, blending unparalleled culinary artistry with service so warm and professional that it feels like coming home to family. If I could give La Huasteca more than five stars, I would!
Let’s start with the star of the show: Gustavo, the waiter and bartender who elevates the entire experience to a whole new level. In all my years of dining out, I have rarely encountered someone as genuinely kind, attentive, and professional as Gustavo. He has a rare gift for making every guest feel like they’re part of the family, greeting you with a smile that’s as warm as the Oaxacan sun. Whether he’s recommending a dish with infectious enthusiasm or crafting a perfectly balanced cocktail at the bar, Gustavo’s passion for his craft shines through. His attention to detail is impeccable—every request is handled with care, every interaction feels personal, and his knowledge of the menu is unmatched. He’s the kind of person who makes you want to return before you’ve even left. La Huasteca is lucky to have such an extraordinary ambassador, and Gustavo alone is worth the visit.
But the magic of La Huasteca doesn’t stop at the service—it extends to the food, which is, quite simply, the most delicious, flavorful, and authentic Mexican cuisine I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. I’ve been to countless Mexican restaurants across the country, and none come close to the mastery of La Huasteca’s kitchen. Every single dish is a symphony of flavors, crafted with such care and precision that it feels like each bite is telling a story of tradition, passion, and creativity. From the first taste to the last, every item on the menu is a perfect 10/10.
The tacos al pastor are a revelation—tender, juicy pork kissed with smoky pineapple, wrapped in warm, handmade tortillas that melt in your mouth. The mole poblano is a masterpiece, rich and complex with layers of chocolate, chilies, and spices that dance on your palate. Even the simpler dishes, like the guacamole, are elevated to something extraordinary—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced with just the right hint of lime and cilantro. Don’t even get me started on the enchiladas verdes, which are so divine they should come with a warning: you’ll be dreaming about them for days. Every dish is bursting with authentic flavors, made with the freshest ingredients and a level of care that you can taste in every bite.
The atmosphere at La Huasteca is the perfect complement to the food and service. Nestled at The Source, the restaurant has a lively yet cozy vibe, with colorful décor that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico. Whether you’re sitting at the bar watching Gustavo work his magic or enjoying a meal at a table with friends, the ambiance is warm, inviting, and full of energy.
I could go on forever about La Huasteca, but words can only do so much justice. This is a place you have to experience for yourself. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and make La Huasteca your next stop. Bring your appetite, soak in the incredible hospitality, and prepare to be blown away by flavors that will linger in your memory long after your meal is over. Gustavo and the entire La Huasteca team have created something truly special here—a culinary haven that’s as much about heart as it is about food. I’m already counting down the days until my next visit!

One of the best restaurants i have ever been to, beautiful venue , amazing high top quality food, service is amazing and and exceeded my expectations , everyone was sp welcoming and smiling and had an amazing attitude . I would definitely continue coming here. Plus they have the best molcajete in Cali, just saying ! They also do birthdays and I believe they have e catering available too, I think im not 100 percent sure but they are so worth every penny !!!! Thank you so much for an amazing experience! I can't remember our servers name, but the young white man with the blonde hair blue eyes, cute, he had the most amazing attitude and was on top of everything, we didnt have to ask for a thing , that man deserves a raise !

Short handed, waited a while to be acknowledged and waited on
A bit pricey for Rice, Beans and Chicken
Food tasted ok, but would've preferred food to be warmer then it was, my husband said that they probably microwaved
Server seemed uptight and agitated, a damper for us since it was a Date Night that had took 3 wks to plan around our hectic schedules
There are multiple Mexican food choices in the area so my advice would be to try elsewhere

Food was just okay. Service was slow. Price was okay. They charge for refilling coke and they don't tell customers about that ( it is fountain drink ) oh and tortillas too. Never expected to get charged $4 for couple tortillas after spending $140.

Service was beyond terrible. Server was slow to take our order, spilled coke on the table and menu, didn't clean it up or bring napkins. Took our order. Eventually brought our meal (forgetting 2 of 6 meals). When handing me the plate (after i had it in hand realized it was very hot), he told me to be careful becaus it WAS hot.
Very slow service, the remaining 2 orders eventualy came, but missing 1 of the items orderd, this was after 4 of us were halfway thru eating. When we asked for refills on our drinks (non-alcoholic) he returned with 2 bottles of coke, and a broken glass with iced tea. The bill Eventually came, with errors (we had asked for the check to be split). They had charged for the bottles of coke, when it was supposed to be refills. We had to go to the manager (the only other person working) to correct it. We waited 10 minutes, then got up to go back to the manager to pay the check.

I was craving some Mexican food so I thought
I'd try this place out. I didn't expect much from a Mexican restaurant inside the Source Mall (mainly Korean establishments), but I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed! The Molcajete Azteca was delicious with a variety of meats and veggies. The manager, Bernard, also came by to check on how the food was, which I really appreciated. Not many restaurants do that these days. Apparently the complimentary chips and salsa are made in-house. They were light, thin, and crispy--just the way I like them. The waitress/bartender, Lucero, was also very friendly and fixed me up a mean Michelada. I'll definitely be returning for food and drinks. 10/10

Prices: 3*

Enjoyed dinner with the fam. I ordered the spicy seafood 4* (half an avocado, shrimp, scallops, and octopus 8! A slightly spicy oil based sauce with sautéed onions). I also had the ceviche tostada 5*).

My partner ordered the mixed fajitas (shrimp, chicken, and steak) which comes with rice and beans and pico de gallo (4*).

Another family member ordered two carne asada tacos (4*). My step father in law ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (4*). They brought a small amount of chips and red (4*) and green (5*) salsas. Happy hour lime margaritas (3*).

The food was good, as was the service, although it did need salt. The portions were large so it helped to offset the elevated prices. I would return.
