The banchans really good here... the peanuts are my go to!! Ladies are friendly I'm not sure if their English is super good but they understood my broken Korean.

Food is prepared fresh, so call ahead. I think it took about 15 minutes for three doshirak and kimbap? t’s not really a grab and go kind of place. But it’s SO delicious and a great value. So much food!!

A old lady in the store is really bossy and rude if you're nice. And take too long time to get food. The other staffs don't know what to do without the old lady. Please don't go if you have a tender heart.

I got Yukaejang spicy soup today, when I heat up and tried, it taste like Thai food, sour soup... it was very sour( It was rotten). I brought it back to get a refund, the cashier lady kept saying that it wasn't, said It is how Yukaejang taste like. I'm Korean, I know the taste. I got my money back but no apology. Not recommending this place.

I wish I could live in Buena Park so I can go here every day. Their vegetable kimbap is one of the best I've tasted in the US. It's full of colorful veggies and it fills your mouth like a big ssam.

Came here yesterday to pick up a lunch box for my grandparents because they love Surah side dishes. It was naturally lunch time for me, so I ordered a spicy octopus lunch box (o-jing-uh bo-kkeum)! Presentation (5/5): My grandma and I enjoy eating with our eyes first, and Surah always exceeds our expectations when it comes to presentation. The lunch box comes in a colorful box and clear plastic bag which doesn't sound like a big deal to some, but it'll easily impress the receiver if aesthetics is somewhat important to them. That was the exterior, but the interior of the lunch box is also gorgeous. The harmony & variety of side dishes and colors made my lunch experience much more enjoyable. Food (4/5): As much as I enjoyed the variety of banchans, I also wanted to mainly enjoy the spicy octopus that I had ordered. However, there were only 3-4 small, cut pieces of octopuses in my stir fry and I couldn't help but to be a tad disappointed. The side dishes were AMAZING though. It consisted of: sausage & oden bokkeum; soy braised black beans (kong-jaban); thinly sliced potatoes with ham (gamja-chae); thin, dried fish tossed in spicy marinade; marinated seaweed (pa-rae muchim); yellow radish (dan-mu-ji); a beautiful piece of egg cutlet (gye-ran-mari); 2 jumbo sized kimbaps; and a slice of garlic bread. That's already 9 side dishes not including the main spicy octopus! Pretty cool and amazing tbh. The side dishes alone exceeded my expectations and elevated itself way beyond any other lunch box experience. I'd love to try their kimbaps too some other time. They looked huge and stuffed with fillings, with a very thin layer of rice-just how I like it. Whenever I come to Surah, my love & fondness for Korean food grows because of how much dedication goes into each meal, so I'm excited to try more things from Surah Express when I'm on-the-go :) & I hope to update my review then :-)

Food was alright. A lot of variety of rolls but nothing that really stood out. Excited to try the sides next time though, those looked like fresh pickled foods in the refrigerated area.

Terrible experience. Ordered kimbaps without cucumber, because my brother and I have cucumber allergy. Picked up the order, got home, and found out that they put cucumber inside every kimbap order. Called the restaurant and the response was ridiculous. Since I left the restaurant without checking, she told me that she cannot make a replacement/refund and I have the sole responsibility for that. And of course, I had to throw them all away. Tip: don't expect them to make your order with special request. They will not hear you. If you have an allergy, then good luck.

I've been a long time fan of Surah Kbbq for over a decade. My mom recently told me that Express opened up for side dishes and takeout meals, so I took a trip this morning to check it out myself! I feel like there are four distinct components that have to be covered.... Side Dishes: They have hot and cold items and i believe their selection changes daily. A few notable ones I saw today- Gutjul Kimchi, it's regular ol kimchi that gets additional seasoning that gives it a sweet and umami flavor. (Tip- let it sit in the fridge a couple days before you eat it!). I also got a small jar of regular kimchi because my mom said it's amazing. They have the most flavorful stir fried glass noodles... I even splurged on the spicy raw crab. Make sure you eat that right away... very delicious and very spicy. Thank goodness I had rice ready for me when I got home. Frozen Foods: Dumplings, 40pcs for $28. Handmade, freshly frozen and cheaper than other restaurants. Pork Cutlets (Katsu)! I can't wait to fry those up! They also sell the dipping sauce for it in the front fridge. Takeout: A wide selection of proteins that are served over rice. All fresh! Seafood, chicken, pork, beef... I did not get one today but I saw many others who did and it smelled sooooo good. I must order a couple of them next time. Korean BBQ Meat: I saved the best for last. First of all... Surah has been a long time fave because they always strived to serve high quality meat, they were the first restaurant I saw in Buena Park offering Prime-only KBBQ menus years ago. Trust me when I say this is the good ish. Also, their prices are lower than HMart, Zion and even Shikdorak. I paid almost double for kbbq meat from another restaurant last week! They legit have really great pricing across the board for their cuts. They also slice everything fresh for you when you order! There's probably stuff I am leaving out, but if you're looking for traditional Korean food in convenient takeout form, I cannot recommend Surah Express enough!

There's a reason why I keep going back to Surah Express. I like their kimchi, banchan, doshirak, and kimbap. I also like their pre-made soups and stews. I keep trying new items every time I stop by and turns out pleasantly pleased.

I ordered Surah Express with Uber eats. Roughly took 45 mins because when Uber eats driver got there the food was nowhere ready and the driver ended up waiting 15 minutes.Ordered galbi tang and yukgaejang, they DON'T GIVE YOU RICE and SIDE DISHES. I lived in this world for 35 years this is the first place that does not give you rice. Basically they want you to drink the galbitang and yukgaejang. When I called them about this they were kind of talking down on me saying this is express store so they don't give you rice but for $1.50 they will give it. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT, and also kept saying to me "do you understand?" " do you understand?" over and over. ALSO in the galbitang and yukgaejang they don't give you DANGMYUN which is clear noodles. I guess since its express they don't give you noodles either but makes your food very slow.DO NOT GOTO THIS PLACE.WORST KOREAN RESTAURANT.NO RICE NO NOODLES NO KIMCHI OR ANY SIDE DISH

Too pricy considering the little amount of food you get. I tried both their lunch combo box as well as the Kimbab roll. I expected the quality and the taste of the food would be much better due to the higher price, but it wasn't worth the extra dollars.

Ordered spicy stir-fried octopus but received spice stir-fried JALAPENO. $14 for this bento? Nope, never coming back.

Today I went to take out some foods at Paris Baguette's mall in Buena Park.I discovered Surah Express right next to Surah restaurant. This small spot has specially premade korean foods such as side dishes including kimbop, some soup, and kimchi.I tried one veggie kimbop, one Bulgogi kimbop for $16 to test first. The size is jumbo not regular kimbop size. The kimbop was filled w the small portion of rice, lots of fillings in the seaweed paper. It is jumbo, looks huge, not easy to bite...I like the Bulgogi but not veggie. They put some japanese style dyed radish pickles in orange, red colors instead of traditional sweet radish pickles, and shredded cabbages. So it was a lot bitter taste....Overall, the portion was jumbo size and filled w lots of healthy veggie ingredients. Tastes quite different and healthy not like a regular kimbop.I personally like a lot less rice w lots of veggie ingredients. If someone likes a healthy kimbop, I recommend this veggie kimbop.

i have been ordering a lot from surah express for their bowls because of the friendly price and the generous amount of rice and the topping. however, i ordered from surah yesterday for the octopus bowl but the amount is significantly less than before; the rice decreased by half, and the amount of octopus was hard to believe-literally one fourth of the original amount. the price went up, but the quantity of food in the bowl went down. - 1/4 ..
