The woman in front of you who checks out and serves every day is unkind because she's tired.

My boyfriend and I have made this place a special reward for ourselves on special occasions. While it's not a big restaurant, it has multiple locations with great food. The Buena Park one is the most convenient for us, and honestly, it's amazing. We gotten take out and come in to eat and we love it so much. Highly recommend getting the regular bossam in the medium size. It's big enough that we've had it for dinner and saved enough for lunch the next day for two people. The flavors are such a punch with the combination of banchans to add to it. It's such an amazing treat.

Yuk Dae Jang truly hits the mark for Korean food aficionados. From the moment you walk in, the enticing scent of sizzling meats and spices sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The real star of the show here is undoubtedly the Bossam dish—an absolute triumph of tender pork belly, expertly marinated, and served alongside an assortment of crisp, fresh vegetables. Every bite is a flavor explosion, with the succulent meat practically melting in your mouth and the accompanying sides adding layers of complexity. The cozy ambiance only enhances the overall charm, making Yuk Dae Jang the perfect destination for a memorable meal with loved ones.

Kind of small, sits around 15 or so parties. The food is beyond amazing. Service attendants were polite and patient.

We got the braised premium beef ribs and it was excellent. The service was incredible as well. We had to take some food to go and the owner even offered to pack us some extra banchan to take home. Truly an amazing experience and I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone!!

Been twice, with attentive service and quick food preparation both times. There are about 10 wall booths and 3 middle tables, so the place is small to medium in size. Most staff have spoken english fluently, while a couple have deferred to colleagues who do. And two quick tips: you can switch from the default white rice to purple rice at no cost and you can also get warm barley tea at no cost. The tea comes in metal cups which are exceptionally well insulated, not showing any heat on the outside. Both times we've gotten the Premium Pork Belly (small size). These slices of pork belly come with two sauces, one is a very salty shrimp (or small fish) sauce and the other is an umami soybean sauce. The pork belly itself is boiled in herbs for a very different prep from typical Asian cuisine. Unfortunately I don't like it as much and think it definitely needs the sauces. The suggested way to eat is to take the piece of pork belly, dip it into your sauce of choice, then wrap it with the lettuce, and top with kimchi/jalapenos/garlic as desired. The lettuce adds a crunch, which is odd to contrast to the very chewy pork belly. We've tried two different soups, and of them the Ramen is the better one. It is reminiscent of Top Ramen in the square form, but with lots of accessories cooked in. It is moderately spicy, maybe a 4 out of 10 on a white-guy palate. The shredded beef adds a nice texture contrast and brings some salty and umami flavor to the ramen. Definitely warming on a cold winter day. The other soup was the Dumplings and Rice Cake in Ox Bone Broth. Here the broth was very underwhelming, and especially any bites with rice cakes were bland. The dumplings were good, I would have preferred just those to rice cakes. Dokkebier Yuza Blonde had yuzu aroma but not deep flavor, so mostly just a blonde.

The suyuk and galbijim here are so amazingly good! The little nice Korean mom kept checking up on us and was so polite! Best tasting galbijim in town!

Great place, especially if you're looking to share with a group or 4+. They've got bossam, braised beef, yuk dae jang, army soup, and other foods that are large portions and great to share. My favorite is the bossam which is pork belly, and what's unique about this place is that they also serve it in individual portions, which I do not commonly see. Small (personal) ~$22, medium ~$46, and large $54. It is just good enough to satisfy my craving. I also recommend the kimchi pork mandu (~$12) which comes as 6 handcrafted and steamed mandu / dumplings. Texture is perfect and overall the dish has a homecooked taste to it. Lastly, service is fairly good with friendly workers.

Came here 01/04/2024. Yuk Dae Jang is a Korean restaurant specializing in a spicy beef soup called yukgaejang. Food: We tried the yukgaejang and yukgaejang knife cut noodles. We also got a shared M size bossam. The food was excellent and the bossam was seasoned well with herbs. The food is good value for the money and authentic. The various banchan was good. Service: The restaurant isn't too large so at times I think there can be a wait but they do seem to have sufficient waiters running around. Ambiance: Not a hole-in-the-wall, just low key but modern.

Came for yukdaejang classic on New Year's Day. Decor has a point of view I agreed with, a casual vibe, but considered and fine. A polo shirt not a t-shirt. Service is low-key and helpful, kind and steady. They have aprons on request to save your clothes from stray splashes of the rich, spicy broth, with the long strands of toothsome beef. My meal left me on cloud nine, adored it. Broth was art. However only three varieties of banchan served that day, and I was honestly not impressed with them - fish cake, cabbage kimchi, and what I guessed were chives. I think I got the chives concept but it didn't deliver. Lots of water to drink, perfect. Plus, a galaxy of soju and bokbunja if you want. Don't miss this.
