My partner and I took his parents here for brunch after picking them up from the Burbank airport when they came to visit. We are all originally from the Midwest and I am constantly on the lookout for a chicken fried steak in Los Angeles, and I must say that this is the best I have found so far! The chicken fried steak & eggs comes with 3 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, + hashbrowns or fruit (I obv went for hashbrowns because you might as well go all in). The hashbrowns were great as well. My partner got their breakfast burrito, which he thought was filling and satisfying even though there are obviously better places to get a breakfast burrito around LA. My father-in-law also enjoyed the chicken fried steak & eggs and my mother-in-law enjoyed her omelette. Everyone finished their plates except for me - it was just a lot of food! The server was pleasant and attentive. She seemed to know several of the people who walked in while we sat there eating. The vibe is very casual, so my partner's parents didn't feel out of place. If you're looking for a solid diner, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Also, they had a display case with some very yummy-looking desserts. I'm sure we will have to try some the next time we visit.

First time here. Great view and service but foods were not tasty at all and overpriced. We had salmon which was overcooked and very small portion and lobster past which was not much lobster but more shrimps. Better to call this dish as shrimp past. Come back for drinks but not food

From management, service staff, all the way down to the host staff — everyone was amazing, attentive, and made sure me and my partner were taken care of. We weren't celebrating anything in particular, but I knew a night at Castaway would be a memorable experience that was top-tier. And it was. The oysters and steaks were also 100% the best part, aside from my company. I'm a fan and will be coming back again.
