Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Spicy...Excellent

This chicken is really amazing! The menu is straightforward and simple. And their prices are very reasonable. We typically order a large amount of chicken and sides to share. Their macaroni and cheese and baked beans are both delicious. I would also highly recommend their lemonade. The wait for food is usually short and the staff is friendly.

This is hands down my go-to spot for fried chicken. It’s absolutely unbeatable when it’s fresh out of the fryer, but even the leftovers taste amazing the next day.

I had been wanting to come here for the longest and I finally made it here. First thing I noticed upon entering was a sign telling exactly what you needed to do for dine-in or takeout. After seating myself, the waitress, Angie, can over to offer me to place my drink order. I told her I was ready for everything now. After ordering my food, it came out within five minutes, hot and smelling good. The chicken I chose was on the small side but it made it up with the flavor and the hint of spicy to it. It was juicy and eat bite had the same taste a the last. The next thing I dove into was the Mac and cheese. They had a crust baked over it and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, it was in the top best that I’ve had in my life. The fries were sprinkled just right with seasoned salt, the cole slaw was wet but not overly wet while the potato salad was decent. A lot better than most places. I would definitely recommend this place to someone if you’ve never been. Angie, my waitress was very attentive and she made she that my drinks were topped off on the regular. Don’t sleep on this place.

Editing my review... the food is still good but the prices have gotten out of hand... way to high for what you get... I guess that goes for all of burbank now.. but over 20 bucks for 3 tenders is ridiculous...

All the bad reviews are true, this place is terrible, just because you put chicken between bread doesn’t make it a sandwich. Chewy ass rubber chicken. Coleslaw sucked. Wait time also terrible, don’t understand why it takes so long to bring that mediocre chicken. It took everything in me not to ask them what world they were famous in, because it definitely isn’t this one. DO NOT, come here. I have no idea how it has so many positive reviews. It is not a hot chicken spot, no seasoning, no flavor, no spice. The TV inside was showing an ad for Dave’s Hot Chicken, I should’ve taken as a sign to go there instead. Never again.

I have enjoyed the chicken - and especially the fried okra - at this establishment for some time. Some days, I'll order some fried chicken and enjoy not going out. But this is the smallest chicken breast strips I have ever seen, and...I have to say, Gus might have lost me as a customer with this.

For the first time I went to buy this restaurant since I started buying. The attitude of the Cashier was detestable, bad service, I asked for an order and the Cashier did not tell me if I wanted it to go or eat in the restaurant and the female waitress also in an ugly way told me that I could not eat in this place just for ordering to go anyway I am consuming I will never return to this place disgusting I even lost my desire to eat and that's why I even left.
