Kalaveras - Burbank

Everything was great, or so I thought, I was there saturday had a great time, but then Sunday morning I was dying after I got food poisoning, please stay away from the chicken here.

We were there Saturday around 2 pm. Service was bad and food was ok. My daughter found 2 hairs on her plate they did credit her plate but after finding them we lost out appetite. We asked for water and we never got it. Cocktails took forever to get after we ordered. Will not go back to this location.

I booked a reservation for 2pm because the website states that Brunch is served until 3pm; however, Brunch service ends at 2pm and in addition to the time on the website being incorrect, the Brunch Menu is also incorrect. This was very disheartening because I had planned my birthday celebration around these details, talked up Kalaveras to my entire party of an additional 10 people, and we weren't able to get what we had planned on. We had to then to make the best out of the situation, so I would to thank the staff, Eli & Destiny, for trying their best to make the situation right! Having worked in the service industry, the people who are forward facing tend to get the brunt of the complaints when it has absolutely nothing to do with them. Both of the patience and helpfulness did not go unnoticed and it helped get my celebration somewhat back on track! The food that we did wind up ordering was good and the vibes are always nice.

I’m so surprised they were empty on a Tuesday night! First time at this location - it’s huge. And clean! We were seated right away and helped by Desiray. Ordered the fajitas plate and a few tacos. I tried the steak, carnitas, and Barbacoa (my favorite). They have a special on taco pricing on Tuesday, so the plates come with just the tortillas and meat. There is a self service station for the rest. Worked better for me because I don’t like anything on my tacos (weird, I know)! Yummy food, fun music, great location, friendly service, and fair pricing. Their happy hour menu also has tons of great stuff. Must try!

Wow how this place has fallen off. The food used to be so good but once they started expanding they changed the menu and the food is just awful now. Slopped together and made so cheap and fast. Drinks are still okay and the atmosphere is still good but they got cheap and petty with the food. Sad because this place was good, all of the locations are the same now. I do not recommend anyone come here anymore.

The staff was friendly and greet us with a smile. I would be coming back and I would recommend this place to my family.

My family and I were at Burbank to visit universal studios for my daughter’s 11th birthday we were looking for places to dime in I came across Kalaveras Cantina our server was Rodrigo he was friendly and very attentive to our table he went above and beyond to celebrate my daughter by bringing her a churro Icecream sandwich topped with strawberry Jam it was delicious food was great and service was great thank you Rodrigo for your great customer service.

When Kalaveras first opened, it was genuinely impressive. The service was spot on, the staff seemed excited to be there, and the food and drinks were great. It quickly became a place I enjoyed visiting and hoped would become my go-to Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, things have changed. The service now feels slow and inconsistent—half the time our waiter is nowhere to be found. The food, which used to taste fresh and flavorful, now seems stale and lacking the quality it once had. Even the drinks seem “downsized,” nowhere near the standard they used to have. The ambiance is still loud, energetic, and very much a party atmosphere, which may appeal to younger crowds looking for drinks and a fun night out. But for those coming for good food and reliable service, it's no longer what it used to be. I'm disappointed because I really enjoyed this restaurant in its early days. I was hoping it would remain a favorite, but sadly, it's not anymore. I'd still recommend it for those wanting a lively bar scene—but not for anyone expecting great service or quality meals.

I'll start with i do not usually do reviews. But i can't find one bad thing about this place. The food was amazing. We had breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is beautiful and lively. It's clean even the bathroom. The staff was friendly and on top of thing but also not pushy. I give 10 out of 5 stars.🌟

Stopped in late at night and service was still great! We just ordered appetizers to share & the food was plenty, tasted good and drinks were nice & strong. Also loved the decor ... great vibes all around. Will definitely come back to try more food.
