The staff was friendly and greet us with a smile. I would be coming back and I would recommend this place to my family.
When Kalaveras first opened, it was genuinely impressive. The service was spot on, the staff seemed excited to be there, and the food and drinks were great. It quickly became a place I enjoyed visiting and hoped would become my go-to Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, things have changed. The service now feels slow and inconsistent—half the time our waiter is nowhere to be found. The food, which used to taste fresh and flavorful, now seems stale and lacking the quality it once had. Even the drinks seem “downsized,” nowhere near the standard they used to have. The ambiance is still loud, energetic, and very much a party atmosphere, which may appeal to younger crowds looking for drinks and a fun night out. But for those coming for good food and reliable service, it's no longer what it used to be. I'm disappointed because I really enjoyed this restaurant in its early days. I was hoping it would remain a favorite, but sadly, it's not anymore. I'd still recommend it for those wanting a lively bar scene—but not for anyone expecting great service or quality meals.
I'll start with i do not usually do reviews. But i can't find one bad thing about this place. The food was amazing. We had breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is beautiful and lively. It's clean even the bathroom. The staff was friendly and on top of thing but also not pushy. I give 10 out of 5 stars.🌟

Stopped in late at night and service was still great! We just ordered appetizers to share & the food was plenty, tasted good and drinks were nice & strong. Also loved the decor ... great vibes all around. Will definitely come back to try more food.

Made a reservation, but when we arrived on time, there was no table prepared. It didn't seem like most of the other people coming in had made reservations, so I was really surprised that we were sat at a broken table by the back door. The table top was not attached to the base so when you leaned on it, the drinks and food would slide off. We asked to get it fixed, but the explained that it was broken...and then sat us in a dark section with no lights. We had to use our phones to read the menu. We asked for chips and salsa for the table, and got a small serving for a large table of people. The food was fine, but the menu can be a little confusing. Then the bill came and we had been charged for appetizers that were not ordered, but the waitress began with arguing that we had, which she quickly realized it was a different table. One and done for us, but it's a shame because this spot has sat empty in Burbank for so long. With Don Cucos, just across the street, there is really no reason to go here.
We had a wonderful time celebrating at Kalaveras. We had a reservation for Sunday brunch and arrived a little early and only waited a few minutes for our table. The place wasn’t too busy when we arrived while we waited for the rest of our party. Staff was nice. Nobody really explained the brunch menu or process, but they did come around for drinks. Brunch is on Sunday and is reasonably priced as advertised. You can’t order off the menu during the brunch hours. They have a good selection of items some breakfast standard items plus tacos, omelette, bar, posole rice beans, tamales a good variety of food. The dessert was just OK. They did have Horchata and another agua fresca as part of the brunch options for no additional fee. Staff was really friendly, but they do get busy and we had to ask for things occasionally like utensils and napkins overall looks like a fun location and good music. Parking is a little challenging on the main street, but there is a parking structure on Orange Grove that is free on the weekends.

4-stars. Good for sports on TV. Great Carne Asada. Civiche was too limey. Shrimp enchiladas was awesome. Pitcher of jalapeno margaritas was ok.

This place, oh boy. It's LOUD. Incredibly loud. When I walked in, I instantly dug in my purse for earplugs. There used to be a chess club that met here. I can't imagine that. The food is certainly alright. No complaints other than the fact the menu is kinda limited. In place of having a robust menu, they have a lot of mixed drinks and margaritas, which is the real star of the show here. The restaurant is also pretty dark inside with teeny tiny tables. With the dim lighting, ample drink menu and blarringly loud TVs and music, it feels more like a club or bar than a restaurant. Wanna talk to your loved one? Ha! good luck. You better hope there's no birthdays happening, cause the waiters walk around with deafening whistles.

So unfortunately this place Ruined a Good Friday Evening out with Some of my Girlfriends. We chose this spot because my friends have came here before. Unfortunately today was definitely something different. We ordered 6 Margaritas and Appetizers. After getting through the first round of margaritas, we realized that we weren’t even really feeling them. It was almost more like a headache because it had way too much sugar And very little alcohol. So we ordered another round and we finished those but halfway through we couldn’t even finish them because Realize that it was more sugar than anything. Pretty much drank 2 margaritas and no buzz at all somethings wrong. The food was OK, but definitely not temperature. Also, we ordered some enchiladas and they were not the best at all. Definitely dry and just not what I thought it was going to be. Definitely not authentic. Don’t get me wrong that atmosphere and customer service is great but the food and drinks I wouldn’t risk it because after we left me and my two friends
ended up getting very sick and spent hours in the bathroom pretty much ruining our night out. Called it a night right after. Very disappointing to pay $150 bucks to pretty much have diarrhea for the night.

Went for the Sunday breakfast buffet and it was delicious! Price was not bad either. They had a wide selection. I also noticed the music wasn’t as loud as they are notoriously known for but not sure if that’s just cuz of the time of day. I didn’t have any alcoholic drinks, so I can’t give my feedback on that. Horchata was a tad too sweet. Oh and I saw a fly inside by the window, the LAST thing I wanna see at an open buffet bar. But other than that, I would go again!

Very great service, Alfredo the manager is one of a kind. Congratulations to the whole team!!!! 😃😃😃
great taco Tuesday 🌮😋 Our waitress was right there to put in our order for more tacos 🌮 and kept them coming and drinks too. Also had good cucumber 🥒 aqua fresca too. We had an early lunch and the music was at a nice volume. We got there when just opened.
