549 S San Fernando Blvd, Burbank
I could not have been more pleased with my experience. I was here for a wedding. Every person I encountered was nice & helpful. The room was really clean, comfortable & nicely appointed. I would definitely choose this hotel again!!! Overall it was a fantastic experience!
What I really love about Springhill Suites are the fact that every room is a suite. It is a nice luxury to have and a great expectation for those who love to have room when they travel. There is no real luxury vibe from this location, not that it would be surprising. The views of are of the small city area of Burbank with an IKEA close by and the backside of the mountain the Hollywood sign is on. But you still get that gorgeous sunset hitting those hills and your room feels comfortable, yet modern. The pool is nice and the courtyard for it has a huge fire circle that will make you want to circle and have intimate conversations with friends at night (open only till 10 PM though). The parking structure is nice and easy to get around. The staff are friendlier though they are definitely far and in-between. The worst thing I could say about the place really has to do with the breakfast which was meh at best. If you like scrambled eggs and do-it-yourself bagels than this is fine. There is no glitz and glamor to this hotel though it saddles next to Hollywood. Instead, you get a large suite close to the freeway, walking distance from bars and restaurants, and free, stable WiFi internet. Not a bad place to stay at all.
Do not stay at this property if you care about controlling the temperature in your room. When I arrived at this property late in the evening after a flight from the east coast, I entered a very warm and stuffy room. When I tried to lower the temperature using the room thermostat, I found that I was unable to set the temperature lower than 69 degrees, and a lock symbol appeared. Moreover, when I tried to activate the fan to get some airflow, it had no effect. Also the supply duct (high on a wall and well out of reach, had all of the louvres shut closed, so there was no ability for air to flow) The room was definitely much warmer than 69 degrees F. I visited the front desk, and the evening manager on duty informed me that the thermostats are "locked" for energy conservation purposes, and that yes, the louvres on the ducts had been closed due to guest "noise complaints." As a Platinum level Marriott Bonvoy member paying almost $400/night for a room at a Springhill, sorry I should be able to pick my temperature. No acceptable remedy was offered. I departed and stayed at a nearby Hilton which was great. Really bad experience. Really bad policy toward guests at this property - knowingly and deliberately sacrificing guest experience on the altar of electric utility bills. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Really good hotel love decoration modern front desk lady's really attentive staff was friendly
The staff were very approachable. We're able to check in early. The breakfast was good. The suite was excellent for the whole family and the bed was comfortable too. Also, Erica at the bar is very helpful and friendly. Not too far from Universal Studios. We would definitely stay here again.
We changed our plans last minute due to reviews being pretty bad for our other hotel. So, with literally 1 hour left to cancel without charge for our other room, we reserved a room here based on reviews. We were not disappointed. Perfect for families. Plenty of room. Nice location, safe area, secure parking garage, hotel is nice and clean with newer features. We enjoyed not having to worry about breakfast every morning. Good breakfast, too, with eggs, bacon/sausage, French toast/waffles, cereals, bagels and pastries and the plenty of other options. We didn’t use the pool or workout facility, but we saw them and they were nice and clean as well. Close to everything. Less than 10 minutes to Universal Studios. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Have since stayed several more times, and I am a fan. Even with the most recent elevator issues. The staff is fabulous, the rooms are comfortable, the place is *quiet* (for those of us who sometimes have to start work at 2am), and it is SO much better than the Marriott Residence Inn a couple of blocks away (sorry Sister Hotel). It is now our favorite hotel in Burbank.
By far Marriott hotels are my favorite place to stay, however on this particular hotel I was extremely disappointed by the poor quality of the design, I couldn't sleep in the entire night because wind from outside will blow trough out the a/c unit making lots of noise and wind blowing in to the room , other big problem is that outside are window was a palm tree and when the wind was blowing the limbs where hitting the wall and making more noise of course, also at night if you need to use the restroom there's no night light to use so you have to turn on one of the regular bathroom light and that will reflect it on the person sleeping next to you because the bed is facing the glass sliding door of the bathroom so again it's very poorly designed!
This is a review about a hotel...without potatoes. Have I lost you? Are you offended? Because, I am. Disclaimer: I didn't stay here. I had family in town who was excited about the complementary breakfasts...only to find it potato-less Fortunately, that didn't last. But, seriously: don't even bother opening a hotel without potatoes. Not everyone eats bacon, green eggs or ham. Remember us when you make breakfast. Eventually, the hotel offered potatoes. Late but awesome. I don't remember them enough to comment but glad they were offered. Family stayed here for half the time they booked. Honestly, they found it to be kinda blah. Maybe it's because they prefer the kitchen set up in the sister hotel? Maybe it's because there's a very negative man who sits at the front desk? Parking is easy enough. The elevators work. I mean, this is a basic hotel. Feels safe enough. I think I only smelled something weird once. Not bad. Travelers who can have a good breakfast, with or without potatoes, this is your spot! People who don't mind being stared at blankly, from the second they park their cars til they wait for the elevator? Run here ASAP. Non-chefs? Take the pressure off yourself and support local businesses. They'd love to have you. There's a tiny table with a mini-fridge and a microwave for those who want to go against the grain. Family left after a few days but this might be it for you!
Whatever you do, do not leave anything behind should you decide to stay there. After staying at this hotel roughly 20 times over the last year, I made the mistake of leaving behind a shaving kit and a pair of pants. It took less than 24 hours for them to disappear permanently. To say the hotel and its staff were less than helpful in finding my items would be an understatement. Honestly, they couldn't be bothered less. I'm not sure that they even bothered to look. Either way, it goes without saying that your property isn't all that safe while you are their guest. The fact that housekeeping did not report either item being found is altogether unbelievable. Who wants to stay somewhere when you and your property are not safe? I certainly do not and will not.
Who ends breakfast at 9:00am? Cmon SpringHill suites! Otherwise, everything was nice. Clean and friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the worst experience ever!
Besides the fact that they did not honor the quoted rate, a few other things to note....Breakfast is a joke. The area was not designed to handle the amount of traffic it gets so trying to get food is a cluster. The parking garage smells like a dirty diaper/rotten trash. The pool and hot tub hasn't been cleaned, ever. Lastly, no trash can is provided under the sink so we had to constantly use bags from restaurants. Other than that, enjoy Burbank!
The first time we stayed in Spring Hill Hotel. It's better than what we expected. The room is more newer and bigger than Residence Inn with the same points. The breakfast also have more variety than other Marriott brands. The service also was really. Will definitely stay in here again, next time.
Nice, clean & comfortable room. The additional sofa bed made our family very comfortable. (We did have trouble setting it up, so they kindly sent someone to help even though it was late.) Very nice shower and amenities. The breakfast was great and, even when busy, always had enough seating.
Service was outstanding! As a rewards member, I'm usually able to check in earlier than the time set. However, they didn't have my room ready. So, we went to lunch. And by the time I got back we were able to check in. Our room was spacious and on the same wing as the gym and laundry room. With direct access to the pool. Although it was not my preference of a high floor. I was impressed by the access we were given and not hearing any noise around except for my own children. The only downside was that another family keyed into our room while we were resting that afternoon. And upon calling the front desk, they gave us extra points for the inconvenience. There was also an incident at the pool a couple days later. A few teenagers got into a fist fight. And so I ran down to the front desk to intervene. Unfortunately the minors ran out as I was telling the front desk staff. Not sure if they were guests or not. But that was crazy. I was really impressed by the breakfasts they had a a large selection of hot foods. And everything tasted delicious. I truly appreciated the eco friendly plates and utensils. They had a sign which informed us that everything was biodegradable/compostable! Would I stay here again? I think I'll have to try the Residence Inn down the street before I can commit to making it a regular vacation home.
The room was clean and quiet which is great. No complaints or concerns. I'm really giving a 5 star review for the Springhill Suites excellent customer service. First, when I got to my room I realized the tv wasn't working as it said the cable was disconnected. I called the front desk and within 5 minutes they sent someone up to fix it. The gentleman was very professional and reconnected it (behind the screen) within 2-3 minutes. I had a one night stay. I slept soundly and checked out early the following morning for a flight to D.C. The reception staff was helpful as I checked out. When I reached Denver, the first leg of my trip, I had a voicemail from the hotel stating that I had left my WiFi hotspot in my room. I called the staff back and Tatiana (sp?) informed me that they would be happy to ship it to me if I provided an address label. As luck would have it my partner was going to be in Burbank the following day and was able to pick up the WiFi for me at the front desk. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the housekeeping staff for bringing it to the lost and found and the hotel staff for proactively reaching out to me. I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future, I appreciate the honesty and customer service so much!
We enjoyed a delightful stay here. All staff members were warm and accommodating above and beyond the normal standard. From what I observed, this attitude comes directly from the assistant manager who is an amazing leader.
Unfortunately, I won't be staying here again. Very noisy environment. Room walls are paper thin. DO NOT take any complimentary upgrade, which is the same room with a mountain view. It puts you next to the street and the noise enters the room easily. Also, hope that your neighbors are quiet or you'll be hearing everything they say. Plus, they charge $18 per day for parking. 2 stars for soon size.
My favorite nightclub in CA, maybe it's cause I've had a lot of good memories here. The downside is the parking, which you have to find out in DTLA, and the long lines to get inside. The venue itself is nice and spacious and depending on the DJ, it can get crowded. There's a lot of bars to pick up your drinks, plenty of restrooms available too. I love that they have plenty of couches and even a lounge area for you to sit and take breaks. The bouncers here are pretty friendly too. Not sure when I'll be back cause I don't go out nearly as often, but I'd pick ExLa over any other club any day.
One of the newer hotels we've stayed at in the Burbank area. Clean and spacious rooms, but maybe because we got a wheelchair accessible room. It came with a sofa and 2 full beds a desk and a fridge and microwave. The heated pool and jacuzzi are open til 10pm daily, there is a bonfire pit with plenty of seats around it and a nice sized gym with decent amount of equipment. The breakfast buffet was free and had eggs ,turkey sausage (which was disappointing) they had a pastry and bread station which was about standard (English muffins, bagels, muffins) and fruit and coffee. Like other reviews said the workers up front always on their phones. Parking was like $18 a night. We definitely would stay here again when we go to universal studios which is a quick 10 min drive.
Nice room! Nice hotel! The only comment I have is the bathroom. I wish the sink was separated outside of the toilet and shower room. This way, roomies don't have to wait for other roomies that are in the toilet to brush teeth/wash hands/etc. Great part was it's close to Universal Studios and Los Angeles. Good continental breakfast spread. Parking is $18 a night, which is a ripoff but what are you gonna do?
This may be one of the best hotel experiences I have had in the last 10 years. Nice Marriott property located in Burbank convenient to Hollywood and Universal City. Hotel is very modern , rooms are large,, and are exceptionally clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has outdoor pool and free breakfast that had eggs , turkey sausage , muffins, bagels , yogurts etc. it was all good and fresh. The hotel is in a good area with lots of restaurants and things to do. The only reason it didn't give it 5 stars is the surprise I got when checking out. I was charged 16 dollars a day to park. Not sure why. There is a parking structure and surface parking adjacent to the hotel that appeared to be mostly empty. Either way I thought 16 bucks a day when you are already paying 219 per night was a tad much. That being said I will definitely stay again, probably will park on the street and fill the tank instead lol.
Conveniently located close to the 5. Room was large with 2 beds and a small living room area. The bathroom was vast. Always a plus when they offer free hot breakfast. Front desk staff was okay, not the friendliest.
Arika is a very wonderful. He attended to us while we were visiting Cali from Pheoenix Labor Day wknd. He was great with communication and was extremely pleasant!
Great service! Mahalo!
Great bar with fantastic bartenders! Stop in and enjoy a drink or some food and chat with your server at the bar. It's always a great time. Reasonable drink prices and draws a local crowd in addition to the hotel patrons.
Newer property. Excellent breakfast that’s included in the price. Short walk to restaurants in downtown Burbank.
Got a white Russian and it was fantastic. Very pleased with the atmosphere, service and the drink. ðŸ‘
Great rates and great value for the price. Had a fantastic corner room overlooking the pool area. Great workspace and comfy bed. The breakfast in the morning had ample options and tons of seating. Staff worked quickly to make sure everything was refilled and tables were clean. They have a tip box in the breakfast area which is fantastic because everyone shoveling in full breakfast should throw some money in there for how hard all the staff work. Pool was nice as was the hot tub. There were no towels when I went out but they quickly sent some up. I stayed in Early spring so no normal person would be in the pool so I understand why towels were not out there early on a Monday morning.
Springhill Suites and the front desk staff should get zero stars (maybe minus 1 star). Booked a room over a month in advance. They email a confirmation query a week before our arrival date and we confirm it. We arrive at the hotel late as noted on the reservation and they claim they're over booked with no rooms. Seriously, WTH? We sit with our two tired kids waiting in their windy lobby while the front desk staff hides from customers kicked back on their smartphones in the back. An hour later they locate a room at another Marriott. We had to ask for a shuttle to the other Marriott. Seriously? Usually we have a decent experience with Marriott in other cities but not this time. It's wrong to cancel a room on the arrival date if you want to stay in business. Avoid Springhill Suites Burbank at all costs.
My new favorite happy hour spot in Burbank located in SpringHill Suites on South San Fernando Road. The bartendress Arika is awesome and gets 5 stars!! She is an amazing mixologist!! I watched her make interesting cocktails and happy hour snacks for me and a few other customers who came in looking hungry and thirsty. I can't wait to come back tomorrow at 5 pm so I can try the hummus and another creative cocktail!!
Nice atmosphere, good coffee
Great hotel! Spacious room, quiet couldn't hear any neighbors. Rooms were clean, water was hot could've used more pressure but wasn't bad. Front desk was very friendly and welcoming. Anytime we needed plates or towels they brought them to our room within a timely matter. Beds were comfortable and clean. Pool area was kept clean, they even have "pool towels" which was great. Outdoor area was great to have just to get out of the room. The breakfast was great food was kept warm and stocked. The only downfall was the one elevator that worked and centrally located wish they had both running or a few other sets as our room was far away, definitely worth requesting a room close to the elevator at this location. Would definitely stay here again. Took 10 minutes to get to universal studios, 20 minutes to Hollywood. A few miles from a target and Wal-Mart if needed. Definitely recommend!
Exceptional Marriott hotel! I stay in hotels monthly, and sometimes for business weekly. This stay was an A+++ It was the most pleasant, clean & useful amenities I've had. The front desk host was friendly, kind and authentic. A few of my favorites are the rooftop seating around the fire pits. I made a few calls and enjoyed the evening fresh air. Great bar open til 10 with a super friendly bartender. Delicious breakfast w/ excellent coffee in a very open, fun & modern decor. Nice desk set up in well situation room. If you need a hotel in Burbank stay here.
My favourite hotel out of the six I stayed at while on this trip. Spacious, airy suite with plenty of room to spread out for a family of 4 adults. Lovely bathroom. Loved that the toilet was in its own little corner. Showerhead is on the opposite side of the tap which is nice when you don't want to get your hair wet. Water pressure is a bit weak and the water feels super slippery but I think this is the norm in LA. One thing is that I wish the sliding bathroom door had a full length mirror on the outside of it. Would be more convenient than having 2 mirrors on either side of the closet door. Very clean. Pretty quiet, though there was a bit of noise from the hall and upstairs on our first night. Beautiful lobby with glass staircase. Beds are very comfy. The pillows made my neck stiff in the morning though. Not sure why. Breakfast is included. Pretty good selection. Potatoes were yummy and well-seasoned. Dining area is pretty big. Staff are very friendly, especially the lady with the red hair and glasses at the front desk. Breakfast staff are also nice. They have a cool program where you can earn Marriott points if you don't get your room serviced. I don't get service usually anyway except for towels so this was a great option for me. Parking garage was great. You pay 17 per night but it felt quite safe so I parked here instead of on the street. Convenient location for Universal Studios and the Rose Bowl, which were two places I went to on this trip. I'll stop gushing now but this was one of the best hotels I've ever been to. Never thought I'd say this of a hotel but I miss it!
Arika and Viet are the best! And great happy hour drinks and prices
Drinks were good and affordable but they did overload the bartender with also having to cook the food at the same time so they have to go back and forth from being a bartender to a cook.
My wife and I wanted to go someplace close to home for drinks on a Friday night. Luckily we made it for the last 30 minutes of happy hour and the drink specials were great. Since it's a hotel bar we were surprised at how intimate the place was which is exactly what we were looking for. There's a fire pit upstairs and you can take you drinks up to enjoy it. The best part about our night was the bartender named Arika. She was so friendly and attentive and made sure we were having a good time. We'll be going back especially if Arika is working.
