Service and cocktails are solid. Food leaves A LOT to be desired. Ordered a grilled chicken and fried chicken sandwich and both came completely burned so we sent them back. Server was very apologetic and brought new sandwiches back. Unfortunately, both sandwiches were still just as burned. The server tried to say the grilled chicken just looked burnt because the spices and the fried chicken looked burnt because it's gluten free.

Wow um I'm not sure where to start with how bad this place was. And it was more about how poorly everything was handled. I called ahead to give this place a heads up about my birthday celebration I would be having there. I said it was around 20 or so people, we didn't need any special treatment or anything but since it was a big group I felt it was good to give them notice. They said it would be no problem and they would be happy to have my group. We get to the place and there's a covered patio outside the game room, it's completely empty so my friends and I start to take those tables. We then go to the bar to order and they told us we needed to be waited on, which was weird because we had been sitting outside for a bit and no one had come to give us water even. Then, a waitress come up and asked how many more people would be coming and I said around 20, she seemed absolutely shocked and did not seem to want to take our food orders for a few appetizers. She then went in and told us to just order at the bar (like we originally were trying to). So, we went BACK to the bar and ordered. She also told us that we needed to leave some tables open on the patio in case other people wanted to use them. Why would other people need to use the tables? They would be filled with people ordering and eating from my group? I asked if the other tables were reserved and she said no. So we were just apparently not allowed to take open tables that no one was sitting at in case someone else came? That made no sense. The waitress also said the kitchen was going to be closing in an hour, at this time it was 6:30pm, so their kitchen closes at 7:30pm? On a Saturday night? That seems way too early.... It didn't end up mattering because... About 15min later the bartender came out and said their grill was broken so they could make any of our burgers or sandwiches. So we said no problem, we'll just order apps. The guy said we'd have to go back to the bar and re-order, he was just telling us they weren't going to make our food. So we go back for a 3rd time and order AGAIN, and another 10min later they come out and tell us their stove is broken so they literally cannot make us anything except a salad or Mac and cheese from the microwave. I found this super weird as when we came in people were eating in the dining room so we're all those people just eating salads? Insane. They were not very nice either about any of this. Reading the other reviews it doesn't seem like their service is great. We tried the microwave Mac and cheese and it was not great, no surprise. They give you plastic utensils in a bag that you'd expect at a fast food restaurant, not an actual sit down place that serves food. But they didn't serve us any food so who knows. I wouldn't look to this bar to have a party at, even though they do have a game room. Just seems like the service sucks and they don't actually want groups of customers. Maybe they only want to cater to dates or smaller groups. If that's the case then they should've said something over the phone. I understand that places have off nights, but to have no food and then not seem apologetic or helpful to offer other options or maybe like a few drinks on the house is just poor customer service to me. I will not be going back here.

Do not come here to watch sports they don't like excited sports fans and will cut you off go somewhere else drinks are tiny and staff sucks also the Mac and cheese is bad

Nice spot ya got here, Story Tavern. Thanks for giving me your delicious Reuben sandwich with a side of excellent tator tots. I also enjoyed my beer (though you didn't make it, having the choice of bitburger is all you). My friends and I sat next to the fireplace and shared some stories as we celebrated the birth of an old friend. He told us some candid stories about some very illegal things. Our service was excellent.

Great atmosphere, super cute, and nice employees. Great place for friends to hang in Burbank.

1st time in Burbank. Walked into this tavern and we were immediately greeted and seated by the hostess at the door. It is a quaint Irish tavern with long tables inside. They offered outside seating, but we wanted to be by the fireplace. Our waitress showed up with waters almost immediately, we didn't even have to ask. We had the best Avery brown ales we've ever tasted, so smooth & robust, they were a great pleasure to sip on while we decided on dinner. We asked to taste an Oktoberfest. Out of 3 choices we asked our waitress to choose. She didn't hesitate to say the Enegren Oktoberfest and she didn't disappoint. Full-bodied flavor with no after bite. It went down smoothly, too! The Story burger with cole slaw as a side was perfect, flavorful, quick to arrive, overall a great dinner choice!! My wife ordered the Spicy 13 Mac-n-cheese. I couldn't touch it because I didn't bring my Lactaid, but I was too happy with my burger, packed with tomatoes, pickles, and onions!! We want to come back to Burbank just for the Story Tavern and a repeat experience!!

Not the first or the last time we have been to establishment! Always a pleasure to stop in for a drink or two! We like to pop in at off times as the place gets quite busy! The bar/restaurant does have plenty of space and multiple rooms! Space for all! And refreshments for all too! They have rotating beers and ciders on tap! A lot of the ciders are made in house. And all of them in the dry side! Also there is a food menu! So drop in for a pint or two!

I would definitely recommend getting dinner before coming here. The chili sliders were not good at all. Expect sloppy Joe's and three little mini buns. A friend of mine ordered the chicken sandwich with seem to be much better and the wedge salad was actually pretty good. This place features a full bar, and the service in the "playroom" was actually very nice. The lady that was very sweet and attentive. But I remember one bartender/hostess that needed an attitude adjustment. I guess everybody is entitled to a bad day. Some people were sitting in the patio and were semi accosted by a homeless person, which was a bit sad and weary all together. Maybe a security could have handled it, but there was nobody there to say anything. There is also a cider/beer bar next door which was more quiet and pretty chill. I may or may not come back which is why I gave it 3 stars.

Love the outdoor atmosphere. Food is pretty good as well. Dog friendly, they even have treats for the pups

The burgers had flavor and the service was good. The portions were average in size. There was a good selection of alcohol, beer and cider.

HORRENDOUS!!! When the 'food' finally arrived after 30 minutes of wait time it was minimal. (The place wasn't even busy). I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. This had more coleslaw on it than pork!!! The pork was overcooked, tough and barely a mouthful of meat. Served with 'taitor tots' barely cooked - pretty much just past defrosted. My girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich - also barely any meat, overcooked and zero sauce! TINY portions... T I N Y! One water and one coke. (Dirty glasses!). All came to $40!!! Complained to the server at the end when they brought the check. Said they'd speak to the manager... the manager never came over. Instead they gave us ten bucks discount. I couldn't sit there any longer so just took it and left. HORRENDOUS - SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!

Trash. How can you literally serve a piece of chicken that was lit on fire?? Absolutely disgusting.

We went here for my friend's birthday dinner and it wasn't that great. First, they "lost" the reservation and didn't even try to accommodate until we made an issue of it. They ended up seating us in a tiny area where most of our friends had to stand. Then when we ordered our food, we made it clear that our friend, the birthday girl, is allergic to gluten because she has celiac and the waitress said they were super careful because the owner has the same issue. At the end of the night, the birthday girl got glutened and very sick because of possible cross contamination.

Wanted to do the whole St. Patrick's day thing and listen to some music but it was kind of a bust. We got a table on the sidewalk, but didn't want to pay a minimum fee to sit on the sidewalk, get a tray of some sandwich and listen to the hostess explaining to everyone how nothing they wanted would work out so we took off.

Amazing GF options not easily attained elsewhere and a staff that's knowledgeable and accommodating for Celiacs/gluten intolerant folks. Keep up the good work!
