Depending on the day/evening you visit, the service can run from average to wonderful. They have a great Happy Hour and a great mix of entertainment in the bar area. Definitely make a reservation for dinner in the dining room or the bar so you can enjoy your meal with the entertainment.

The food was really terrible. I don't get what all the hype is about. It was borderline inedible. We went home hungry. Steaks were overcooked and unseasoned. Mashed potatoes were oddly metallic tasting and smelled like fish. I don't even know how that's possible, but there you have it. Not recommended at all unless you want to waste time/money. To their credit, the service was actually pretty solid. Attentive server.

The servicer was very slow I believe they were short staff, she did her best but waited a very long time for drinks and overall service.

The server was slow and it took a long time to get food order and food served. It took over 25 minutes to get desert. Server practically threw the load of cheese bread on the table and walked away. Been there many times this was the first time the level of service was below expectations.

The night started with making us wait for 20 mins for our table even though we had a reservation. Then they put us at a folding table right by the kitchen. So our table was too small to even hold our plates and we were constantly bumped into by servers coming out of the kitchen. They took WALK INS and seated groups of 2 at the booths while our table of 4 was stuck at a tiny table. When we brought it up to them they said they could maybe move our table out of the way of the kitchen but that would be another 30 min wait. We asked to be seated elsewhere and they said they would have to give up our table and put us on the waitlist for another one forfeiting our reservation. On top of all that the food was over cooked. Salmon was uneatable, dry, and completely white. The steak was ordered as medium and came well done. We sent food back and they took 10% off the bill and didn't even refire the bad food. The drinks were watered down garbage. We asked to talk to the manager who never came. Terrible experience and I've been here before and had a great time with good food. I was taking my in laws out for a “classic LA Dining experience” and I'm so embarrassed. They thought food in LA was supposed to be good but this experience didn't even surpass their local Virginia pub. Unforgivable. Worst dinner out I've had in LA in the 15 years I've been living here.

Our dinner at The Smoke House was outstanding. My youngest son and I enjoyed a cozy red leather booth with a classic Hollywood vibe. He loved his porterhouse steak and mashed potatoes, while I savored my filet mignon and clam chowder. Our server, Robert, was fantastic—sharing the restaurant's history and magically keeping our glasses full. We'll definitely be back!

We had heard great things about the Smoke House. They were true! It did not disappoint. The restaurant's atmosphere is exactly as others have described and the prime rib, wedge salad and split pea soup were delicious. Our waiter was nice but I was not impressed with his efficiency. We spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for him. But the valets were great.
