Wonderful food. Entertaining chef. Great server. Beautiful view of the planes landing at SFO
First there was hair in my wife's soup, The server brought another, All 3 of the Filet Mignon was to chewy and fatty, Son was given the wrong drink (not a big deal). But for a $60 plate i expect my steak tender and be able to cut it with a fork... We have been coming to this location for over 30 years...and most of the time it is good. The place was semi empty being a Monday night, The server was excellent and prompt in refilling drinks.
We had a great time. The music was a little loud for my 9 year old but it adjusted at some point.
Benihana s in Burlingame is a classic. Our waiter kind of forgot about us. I didn't get my steamed rice. No drink refills. The food was good. The chef was entertaining. But for the cost a bit disappointing . If you've never been then you may not see the difference. Used to be nicer and good service
Service was great but the food is mediocre at best. They offer you some butter to make the food taste better but I opted not to. Go figure - it should taste good as is. Ate maybe 30% of my filet mignon and shrimp and that's after I added the salt myself and dipped it in the sauce they provided. There were 4 of us and my mom only ate noodles and we paid (including tip) $380 !
Lots of fun! Food for everyone. Our chef was fun and the show was exciting. Our only minor complaint was we were crammed into a table and we barely had any room. My husband could barely move his arms. Everything else was fantastic! We'll be back
Exceptional service! I've visited multiple Benihana's within the Bay Area and Burlingame, CA stood out with stellar service. I plan to return within the next month.
I have been a fan of Benihana since going to my first one 55 years ago for my 7th birthday and make numerous trip to Benihanas acorss the globe each year. While still a fun experience, it seems prices have risen considerably over the past year under the new ownership of the chain. On the plus side, the menu has expanded as well, but that also slows the chefs down a bit. I have been going to the Benihana in Burlingame since 1988 and it seems there is always a complete turnover in staff, including teppanyaki chefs. I am not sure if this has become a training ground for other Benihanas but the chefs here seem to be less skilled. I am not sure if they still offer it but they used to do a "training table" where one member of your party would be trained for aboout 30 minutes and then be the Benihana Teppanyaki chef for the rest of your group!
Elio was a really great host! Definitely had an amazing time at this place.
