“extremely bad tasting food and bizzare combinations....miffed at kichadi like biryani with no flavour and being served with aam ka achar....god knows how this restaurant got Michelin star rating ....Shame on the chefs and the owners for ripping off the customers with overpricing of the food for poor service, absence of any ambience or decor”
“Hundreds of wines to choose, from local to worldwide. Knowledgable and friendly staff, chic tasting room, always great vibes and good tunes spinning when we visit Velvet 48!”
“A really wonderful, romantic oasis in downtown Burlingame. All the food we ordered here was delicious. The Italian sausage lasagna was my highlight. The pomegranate and arugula salad was also wonderful. The Bolognese lasagna was solid but not as standout. The complimentary focaccia bread at the beginning was just so-so.
The staff and service are extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit!”

“Came here yesterday for iftar to break our fast, they gave us some dates to start with water, and made sure our food would be ready at iftar time. They are family owned, friendly people and delicious red lentil soup.
Would come again :)
Vegetarian options: Red lentil soup (shorba)”

“Society Restaurant & Hookah Lounge is one of our favorite spots! The place looks amazing—really luxurious and classy. The food is always on point, and the hookah is the best we’ve had. What keeps us coming back is the service. Everyone there is super friendly, from the staff to the owner and manager. They always make sure we’re taken care of and having a great time. 5 stars for sure!”

“I really love this place! The food is just delectable and yummy! I recommend the combo appetizer plate and the combo meat plate for two people to share. It will allow you to sample everything and still be content. I wish one thing they did differently was double the pita bread serving for the appetizer plate. That’s the only con. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is very modern and airy.”

“10/10, must visit. This is perhaps the most charming little coffee shop EVER. The owners, a cute older couple, have been here for 30 YEARS and built a reputation through their low prices, sweet charm and friendly service. They are cash only, and I was not prepared...fifty cents short of two lattes and a bagel. Esther was having none of it, and not only accepted my $13, she gave us ANOTHER bagel, AND two cookies as little treats!? These places don't exist anymore. Come here and support them.”
“Rocca delivered the perfect romantic dinner for two in a half-round booth. From the divine Gnocchi with Pesto Cream to the generous Ravioli Bolognese, every bite was a delight. And let's not forget the indulgent Chocolate Mousse for dessert. Impeccable service, a cocktail menu to suit both our tastes, and an atmosphere that set the scene for a memorable evening.”
“We got a combo doner (gyro) wrap. I am picky about doner, it is very hard for me to like if it is not really good. But this doner was amazing! Juicy, well cooked, tasty. No additional sauce in the wrap, just like the real Turkish doner! I highly recommend this place. And I’ll definitely try the other meal options in the future.”

“I love supporting small businesses and this place is the Best! I love their Lavazza cappuccino and pastries especially the cannolis! Got to try the vegetariana sandwich today and it was the best vegetarian sandwich I’ve had! Super cute spot and very kind people!”
“I’m obsessed with this place. The food is so so amazing. I love that they have a display of the food so you can see what you order. I’ve tried salads, omelettes and pancakes all 10/10. The iced coffee is really good and the fresh juices you can taste the real ingredients. The staff is young and friendly. Best vibe sitting outside by the sun. I look forward to coming back here when i’m in the area”
“BG is a gorgeous restaurant, with well prepared food, and live music/jazz, most days of the week. Owners are very personable and hands-on, which is rare, amongst restaurants. Great place for special occasions or just a night out with your favorite person/people. Share a great experience, without a shocking price tag!”
“I had to stop by Royal Donut Cafe because of all of the great reviews I saw on Yelp! And I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all! The staff was awesome! From the cashier, to the cooks, and the server. And I even got a chance to meet the owner, Terri, who has taken over the business for the past 15 years! Definitely going to be a regular here! I ordered the vegetarian omelet! 😋”
“Yan gon is a family own Burmese restaurant on broadway Burlingame. The owner and the entire staff were extremely friendly , attentive , courteous . helpful, and welcoming . Their dishes are delicious . I have tried their Burmese Style Curry Lamb , Singapore Street noodles, Deep fried Chicken Wings , and Wor Wonton Soup. All four dishes were delicious, but my favorite is the won ton soup . This soup is perfect , it's so healthy and brothy. The broth is so rich that left a long lasting mouthwatering and coating sensation lingering in my tongue. The wontons are so tasty , juicy , and flavorful with the right amount of , I believe was pork , ginger , garlic ,chopped onions , sugar, salt , pepper , and shrimps . . The shrimps were very tastey and fresh . It didn't have that strange scent of ammonia or fishy smell like spoiled shrimps . The restaurant is simple , bright , clean , casual ambience with ample seatings. I have been here many times and got seated right away. No wait . This restaurant is a must try if you have the craving for Burmese food or just want to try something new.”

“Saw this location on yelp. Noticed their menu. Was curious. We ordered the Pulpo Sample and the Garlic Fries to share. Everything was good except the shrimp. The sauce where the shrimp was just a bit spicy even for mother. We also ordered the traditional Paella(share2-3), Slowed Braised Beef Short Ribs, the BBQ Pork Ribs and the Sea Bass. The paella was delicious, the slow braised short ribs was extremely tender and tasty but the pork ribs was a little bit too dry, and finally the sea bass was very good according to mom. For drinks, we tried the red Sangria and the Peach Sangria. The Red Sangria was good but not as strong as the Peach Sangria according to my sister in law. We all will definitely come back, especially for the Peach Sangria according.”
“Fantastic flavors and presentations at Twelvemonth! We went for a family dinner on a Friday night and the place was hopping. Every dish was really quite tasty, especially the tamales. Good cocktail and mocktail menu, and good selection of wines and beers.
The space is beautiful too, with high ceilings, lots of space, and a gorgeous outside area with tons of seating.
The entire menu is plant-based and vegan, which made the vegans amongst us ecstatic of course. But then the omnivores were happy too because it's just really tasty food!
Can't wait to try the prix fix tasting menu, but one of us didn't want it, and it requires full table participation. Next time then.”
“This is my and my husband’s favorite sushi restaurant! This is a must-visit restaurant when friends or family visit. This is a restaurant recognized by everyone! It's a little pricey (but not terribly expensive), but it's really worth it⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really recommend this place! In particular, salmon belly and eel sushi melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. Be sure to order it haha. The place itself is small, but the sushi quality is so good that we go often haha.
This is my go-to sushi place in the bay area! I really recommend this place because once you put the sushi into your mouth.. it melts. Especially I recommend unagi(eel) sushi and salmon belly sushi! The price is a little bit high, but reasonable price - because it is definitely worth it. Also all the employees are so kind and nice here :)”

“My favorite tea spot in the area by far. Since discovering it a year ago I have not tried anything else. Their jasmine tea is my go to. Mango jasmine or jasmine milk tea. Strawberry matcha is also pretty good. I do 50% sweet on the mango one and 75% on the other two. Their boba is always so good. Only thing I wish is that there was someone to talk to when ordering so you could bring reusable cups.”
“Came for the camarones a la diabla (“Devil’s Shrimp”), which they don’t have on the menu but are happy to make it for you. I actually enjoy theirs more than El Farolito! Also HIGHLY recommend their pastor tacos. Their salsa is top-notch, which I am very picky about. So lucky I live two minutes away!
Parking: Park behind if you can’t find on street.”
“This is a charming ice cream shop on broadway Burlingame. They have a great selection of tasty hand crafted ice creams, yogurts , sorbets, chocolates and candies. It's an ice cream shop that fulfill the most posh of taste. My favorite is the Ube ice cream . Its so luscious , thick and creamy texture with a mellow, subtle nutty, and a hint of vanilla flavor. Location is great. It's on broadway Burlingame next to Walgreens. Meter spots , parking lots , and 2 hrs of free parking available. Cute ambience and the entire staff is attentive and welcoming.”
“The restaurant is located inside a plaza and there are a lot of parking spaces. We arrived there right after 6:00pm, and there were a few people waiting inside. After I put my name on the waitlist, we were able to get our table very quickly. We ordered the Sliced Beef & Ox Tripe in Chili Oil, Cucumber Salad, Chicken & Corn Dumpling in Chili Oil, Napa Cabbage & Pork Potstickers, Pork Xiao Long Bao, and Iced Assam Milk Tea. They served the food pretty quickly and all the staff were friendly. Those dumplings were freshly made by the chef because you could see the back with an open kitchen and watch them making all the dumplings. Dumplings and Xiao Long Bao tasted pretty good except the sliced beef and ox tripe and the drink was just ok. Highly recommended for the dumplings and Xiao Long Bao :)”
“A very nice and clean coffee shop in a beautiful area. The whole area is quietness. The place is very close to a trail, beach, and walk-side sea.
I got a cortado, which was definitely good. I could taste a strong and balanced coffee. Also, I got a gluten free waffle (Honey Butter), which was light and delicious.
This place gets an easy 5 stars. The place seems to be popular, where there is usually a 15-minute wait time.”
“Finally ate here for the first time a couple of days ago. Pancakes are on the thinner side, which actually gives it some crisp, and it's tasty. Ben's Special was good also, especially with their homemade hot sauce. Extra bonus points for the amazing bobblehead collection display.
Overall, this side of the peninsula has some really good diner spots.”
“Convenient location from the SFO airport. Nori roll with the “tuna pate” was really delicious Blueberry banana smoothie was also great, made with their homemade almond milk. I was warned beforehand which items contained honey (I believe it is mostly the desserts that have honey). Updated from previous review on 2025-04-10”

“It was fun going during the soft opening of Palmetto Superfoods in Burlingame (there are other locations in the Metreon, on Union Street, and on Clement Street in San Francisco, with another planned for Santana Row). I learned a lot by speaking with the super friendly and deservedly-proud owner. This location in Burlingame is a really cool little spot diagonally across from Safeway and has a sweet public rooftop sitting area. And I love that everything is plant-based except the honey and bee pollen, but they have a vegan apple honey — which is absolutely delicious — as a superior substitute. Anyway, with a choice of bowls (and smoothies), one could choose a set one on the menu or customize everything with unlimited bases and toppings — as long as it fits in whatever size bowl you choose (yup, I totally went large). I opted for the Bay Blend, but swapped out the strawberries (not really my thing) for toasted coconut flakes (most definitely my thing). The bowl was quickly layered by the friendly employee, who looked like she was excited for her next opportunity to surf, at least in my imagination. From the açaí, pitaya/dragonfruit, and chia pudding on the bottom to the banana and almond butter in the middle to the granola, blueberries, and toasted coconut, etc. on top, it was scrumptious and satisfying. Wanting to try a little more deliciousness, I decided to take a Midnight Beach smoothie to go. Now that I’m gone, I know I’ll be back!”
“Cozy, family-owned Chinese restaurant located in old downtown Burlingame. The Mongolian beef and general chicken were both well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. Friendly and efficient service. Not a lot of street parking spots, but there are several parking lots within a 5-minute walk.”
“The fact that it is all gluten free is amazing. I haven’t been able to have a bahn mi since I found out I have celiac. I ordered one today and it was so good. The customer service was great. I love this place and definitely recommend! I will be back to try more of their menu items”
“Amazing poke’ ! Incredible service! Awesome owners! Cool Asian sparkling water flavors! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“The house salad was amazing, with fresh greens, avocados, sliced almonds, avocado, and the perfect dressing. I added prawns, which were perfectly grilled and seasoned (6).”
“Has everything. Drinks, vibe and empanadas! Been here many times. In door and outdoor options. Not too loud.
Cocktails are fun. They have a holiday menu too right now. The menu makes it easy to choose with drawings of each. Only draw back is the ice inside is huge soo not as much drink as you think.
The vibe is my fave. Open and chic. Enough seating.
The Empanadas are good. One per order. Chicken, beef, mushroom option.
Staff is chill and always attentive.”
Cheap Eats
“I came in for a quick lunch while I was waiting and nearby. It really exceeded my expectations. I got a slice of sausage and pepperoni with a drink, which was cheap and exactly what I wanted. I'm not sure I would say it is the best quick slice I've had in the bay area, but it is the best from a chain. Service was super fast and friendly, my food was ready pretty much once I filled my drink. It was one of the coke touchscreen selector machines, so I got something I never find. There were a great selection of different pizza toppings to use, pretty much anything I would want, and some I wouldn't think of.
My only real issue was the atmosphere. I liked the decor, but it felt like it was designed for the kind of dining I was there for. It just felt a little seedy, I didn't want to linger after eating. I've been to worse, especially for this general category of place, but it felt like they were shooting a bit above that.
All and all, I'll be back. It will be on my radar for the future.”
“This bakery is an absolute gem. Best vegan baked goods in the Bay Area. I love that they rotate the selection and always have delightful treats. The croissants are my favorite. The focaccia, cakes and scones are great too. This place is my weekend go-to! It would be nice if they had more tables, especially outside.”
“Tpumps is always quick, and offers a large amount of taster tea that is appreciated during the line. Unfortunately there isn’t any sit down area, but their prices make up for it - esp on Tpumps Tuesday where you get a free upgrade. My favorite drink is the green tea - peach rose lemon w honey boba and light ice and sweetness
Without light sweet the drink could be too sugary since the boba is honey boba which adds to the sugar content”
“I stumbled upon this place after stopping by Salt n Straw and wow do I feel like I’ve found my new hidden gem! With the vast but not too overwhelming menu options, they have alcoholic boba drinks. It’s about time we have a boba shop that serves alcohol in the Bay Area! The service was also amazing. Alongside the owner, Tony, he has staffed his team with friendly and efficient workers. My drink was ready shortly after I ordered. I barely had time to take a seat and not to mention it tasted great. You can tell Tony really cares about his business and making sure every customer is taken care of. Definitely check this place out if you’re ever in the Burlingame area!”
“I recently stayed at the Marriott for a business trip and had the pleasure of enjoying Starbucks coffee and food on two of the three days I was there. The coffee and food were consistently amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly and helpful employees on the first day I visited. They had a great positive energy that made my stay enjoyable.
However, on the last day before heading to the airport, I encountered a particularly rude cashier named Jessica. I was patiently waiting in line for her to finish with a customer when she mistakenly assumed that I was “cutting” in front of another customer because I stood on the other side of the cash register. This customer had already mentioned that they were only looking, but Jessica persisted in forcing me to move myself and all my luggage over to the other side, even though I was the only person in line.
Shortly after, a Caucasian woman approached the counter and did the exact same thing I had done, yet she didn’t make any effort to move herself. Instead, she happily took her order. This incident was the only one I had with a barista, and the rest of the staff was incredibly sweet and kind. It seems that Jessica may need some additional training to improve her customer service skills.”
“Looking for something different after our cruise. Centro definitely hit the spot!! Everything was delicious. Great atmosphere and awesome playlist!”
“I went to this place because it was convenient, I was staying at the hotel on Airport BLVD. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box with 2 entrees, and the food was so fresh and delicious! I will definitely return”

“Wonderful service, DELICIOUS food and the best views! I was so glad my company put me in the area. I had the exotic cocktail (which was one of the best drinks I’ve had in a while), The calamari which they also put fried artichoke in it *chefs kiss* and those sauces!!! My goodness the SAUCES separate or together my taste buds were very happy. Last but never least the lobster bisque…. I about picked up the bowl and licked it clean…. Perfectly seasoned, buttery, creamy, mmm mmm mmm!! I can’t wait to come back…after your meal you can walk it off with the 360 views of just beautiful scenery”
“We came here after visiting Washington Park with 6 people on a Sunday afternoon. It was hot and we wanted something small and quick to eat and drink while the niners game was on. We originally wanted to sit at the bar but since we had a larger group we opted to sit at a table. We got a round of shots and a Prickly Pear Margarita that was really good. We got the signature French fries flight (truffle, rosemary garlic, bbq) served with herb ranch, chipotle mayo, and ketchup. We also got the Chicken Wing flight (Buffalo, salt n pepper, honey habanero) that came with 9 total wings. And we got a chicken fettuccine Alfredo. It was a good little snack for all of us, service was great. There was air conditioning, but there was a quick black out during the game but it came on pretty quickly! There’s street parking and some lots nearby.”

“TLDR: great food and beautiful location but pricey for dim sum
We really enjoyed all the food, the shrimp dumpling, siu mai, and other assorted dim sum were very enjoyable. The skin on the har gow was just right without being too sticky, the chicken feet were tender and not too spicy. The service was good and the view is pretty but the price is very expensive, $7.10 for a small dish with most dishes being medium at $8.10 for four pieces is a bit high.”
