“Tonight, after a long and tiring day at work, I visited Society Restaurant & Hookah Lounge to relax—and it was the perfect choice. The place is beautiful, calming, and has such a great vibe with relaxing music. The staff were amazing: very kind, welcoming, and truly hospitable. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating; I personally love sitting outside, but since it was raining, I chose to sit inside and still had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend their kanafa and tea—they were incredibly delicious. This is a perfect spot to unwind, relax, and enjoy quality time. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“Nice lounge and not too busy, at least on a Friday morning when I visited. Some alcoholic drinks are charged but there are decent options for free as well. They seem to have special meals from time to time and they had a bagel bar on the day I visited, which was quite nice. There’s a business area with printer which is quite convenient and the lounge is separated with the food area and the relaxing area, making it less noisy. The service was great and the staff super friendly.“

I mentioned to Gil that my only wish in this world was to go to the Super Bowl and to my absolute surprise, he bought me a ticket! I was stunned and so deeply moved. His kindness and generosity are truly rare and something I’ll never forget. The atmosphere at 840 Wine is warm and welcoming, the drinks are fantastic, and Gil’s heart is even bigger than the great wine selection. “Very nice, lots of seating, you can tuck into a quiet space, lots of food and beverage choice. Shower available to get a quick refresh. A bit of a find for the first time as it is tucked in the back behind another lounge. Just pay attention to the signs.“

The food was fresh and flavorful, and the hookah quality was top-tier—smooth, long-lasting, and well-prepared. Everything just felt consistent and well put together.

“A real locals only kind of place where the floor is permanently tacky, the bathroom has seen things that would legally qualify as maritime disasters, and there’s at least one sun-bleached guy named “Sharky” who hasn’t worn real shoes since 1998.

The decor is “nautical decay,” the IPA tastes faintly of salt and regret, and every surface looks like it survived both a hurricane and a beach boys metal tribute band.

There’s a surfboard on the ceiling signed by someone who might be famous, but no one’s sure.

“Rolled into town on a Wednesday, looking to book a late night party on the upcoming Saturday. Monica behind the bar grabbed the owner Malhi from next door. They were both super helpful and made it easy. Had a great time with good drinks. Even pumped our own music through their sound system. Nice looking place with chill vibe.“

“I've been staying and working in South San Francisco this week without a car. Have dined there for lunch 2 days in a row now, and both days I also brought back dinner to my hotel for the evening. Everything has been delicious with fresh ingredients. Really creative and elevated offerings for a quick service restaurant. The salmon was especially amazing! “This rating is for their lunch buffet which is offered on Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. The food was good and fresh. The buffet menu changes daily. You can check the day before on their website on what they will be offering the next day. They had tempura squash, sautéed greenbeans, crispy pata, fried chicken, baked fish, tinola chicken soup, steamed rice, garlic rice, and pancit. Dessert it was only buko pandan. They also had pickled ampalaya (bittermelon) and a tomato onion salad. As for the atmosphere, the place was too dim for me. More like lighting for a night club,and it was lunch time. Wish it were brighter. Price is very good.“
