Been to this places many times and always enjoyed the food and services. From walked in until you left , everything was perfect. Very friendly staffs. Great job and keep it up.

Came to try the ramen. Not bad, but I guess this must be a pattern in the US - Instead of focusing on bringing out subtle flavors, like, in this case, the umami of the beef in the soup, there's a tendency to overpower with either garlic or pepper, rendering the taste buds paralyzed.

But the akagyu was definitely tasty!

Great service too!

This is my first ever review l've left for a restaurant. I was recommended this place by a friend. My first visit was great - 5 stars. The food was delicious, service was quick, and the interior was nice. My second time back will be the last. I was with my Fiancé and we were put all the way in the back. We didn't have a problem with that. The issue was they had forgotten about us. It took 45 minutes for someone to come take our order then we waited an hour and a half or maybe 2 hours for any food to come out. They had given us edamame after waiting about an hour on the house due to the long wait. Eventually, someone came to look at our sheet and asked if we had gotten any food. We hadn't.

All the tables around us who were seated at the same time got all their food. They had left before we had gotten anything. They gave us fries on the house, but after 2 hours of no food, we just wanted our order and to leave. We eventually got the meat skewers we had ordered. We canceled the ramen because who knows how much longer it would've taken. Last thing we were waiting on was corn... which never came. After waiting for 30 minutes for just corn, we asked to cancel that as well and to just get the check. It's a bummer that this seems to happen often based on other reviews l've seen, but hasn't been addressed.

We watched as another table who got seated at the same time as us get all their food, paid, and left before we had gotten anything we ordered. The whole night, we maybe received one apology if any.

While the service received was friendly and responsive, the taste of the food was mostly just okay. The skewers were mainly a similar flavour of sweet soy glaze, quite salty, and the portion is small for price per skewer. The ramen is fine for a place that doesn't specialize in it. The skewers are saltier than the ramen (!) For something interesting I would recommend the smelt (if you're okay with eating a whole small fish — the bones and head all soft and edible) which is also one of the cheaper skewers at $3 (for one fish though). It is only salt seasoned (no soy glaze) and not too salty It is very dark inside so may not be for you if you have vision issues. You also take off your shoes if you are sitting at the in-ground tables (which are most of the tables).

First we got a salmon and a zucchini skewers. They tasted great. However, the rest of the food was not good. The takoyaki was undercooked. The fried squid and fried chicken was overcooked. We also ordered the spicy ramen, the broth and steak was nasty. The price was not the quality of food. The server was very nice and respectful. The ambience was peaceful and quiet. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant but the food ruined it.

The food was good. The service was sub par. Nobody smiled. When we 3 walked into the front lobby, we were not greeted. The woman just talked on the phone and didn't acknowledge us. Another woman came by the desk, and also didn't smile or acknowledge. We had a reservation and it took 10 minutes for someone to look at us, and we were the only people there! I can't stand rude service. The food was served without a smile. It felt like we were bothering them. No thanks.

I haven’t been here in about 3 years and could not wait to eat here again. Last time it was quite the exquisite experience. This time however, was woefully miserable. We immediately got a table when we arrived for our reservation, and everything started out normal, but then we were left waiting a long time after we got our miso soup. The next set of food came out and then we were forgotten again. We had to ask if our food was coming. Grilled squid was cold. The lobster tail was dry, overdone, and tasteless, actually the shell was burnt and flaking off. The only thing that was really good was the miso soup. Everything else was either undercooked or overcooked, or over seasoned. Definitely not coming back.

this is one of our go to place in Burlingame the past 6-7 years.. a lot of my son's birthday, milestone.. we come here... and he always requests this place.. and we love yakitori - so far, we tried a lot of yakitori places in Burlingame, SF (downtown) - nothing beats this so far... their marinate - their secret spicy sauce...

A remarkable and delicious dining experience! Me and my buddies dropped in for dinner on the way of town totally blind. We were looking for an authentic ramen, which two of us had never had (just the packaged stuff).

The atmosphere was delightfully unique, with stocke sunken tables in glass enclosures, we could see other dinners, but barely hear them, even the large party next to us. It was a fun blend of intimate and public dining.

The ramen bowls we had were amazing! So delicious, with subtle blend of flavors. The bowls were about the size of my head!

My only complaint was that it was challenging to get in and out of the sunken tables. I'm not as spry as I used to be and we joked that my buddies were going to need to haul me out. I was able to get up on under my own power, but it was a close thing. Not recommended if you are mobility challenged.

Still, the food was worth it, even at the risk of embarrassing ourselves climbing in and out.

It was such a delightful experience in this restaurant especially if it's your first time. Food was great and price are all reasonable. Definitely will recommend to friends... we love it.

We did not know what to expect going in but this was an amazing experience. Having just come from Japan weeks earlier - the food and service were what we came to expect traveling through Japan. I could list everything we ate from the ramen to the salmon wrapped with bacon. Nothing missed. And my daughter loves K-pop so the music worked out for us. Maybe not everyone would want that but being a lover of music and not knowing the music- I was good with it. That might be the only variable for some.

At 45 minutes they said they’d lost out order. We rewrote it. We felt they were very overpriced- skewer orders were all 1 skewer & was a miniscule serving. We heard the kitchens heated argument. They brought food we didn’t order& not what we did order. The bathroom area was disgusting. I felt bad for the servers- they tried. Spent $260 for 4.. not worth the bother again..

The food is really good. As an Asian visiting San Francisco, the quality and taste really resembles the originality if a Japanese cuisine
