The restaurant itself is probably a little outdated, but inside the service was amazing, the food was great. The menu was very diverse, a little bit of something for everybody. They also had live piano music going, which was very enjoyable. Our bartender/server was fantastic. This place has been around since 1978 and you can tell why.
My parents love Max's of Burlingame. It's their local getaway since they live near it. They are both 90 years old.
Nine in our group, walked to here from Hyatt to have lunch. Easily accommodated us without reservation. Service was excellent and the food was good.
The food was very good indeed and the service was excellent.
Just what I needed! A delicious burger with added avocado. They even have gluten free buns which is a plus as some other places are so antiGF. Wish they had a GF dedicated fryer. My friend had the fries and said they were delicious. GF Russian cabbage soup is also very yummy and enough to take to go. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful Burlingame weather. Our server was fabulous and very patient with modifications.
Excellent experience with good food and top notch, attentive and caring service. Would definitely return and the vast array of food items were amazing. The salad selections were plentiful and noteworthy.
Nicole, our waitress, was very attentive, friendly, and wanted to make sure we got what we wanted. The food was delicious too!
My sister and I shared a kale salad and maple glazed salmon. Both were EXCELLENT! The vegetables and salmon were cooked perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and the presentation was appetizing. We loved the piano player in the bar area. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!!!
Food was mediocre at best. No charm to restaurant. Service was very good. Went here on Easter 2024. Same experience thought I'd give it a second chance. But this is it won't bother again.
We unfortunately came on a busy night and experienced terrible service from our server. Wait times for simple items were unreasonable. 40 minutes for a child's lemonade? And his attitude sealed the deal. He acted like we were in the wrong to say anything or ask status of things. Serving sizes were also pretty small, especially for the price.

The food was good but the service was awful. Our server seemed appalled and pushed back when we asked that he split the tab 3 ways for 7 people having dinner together. It's been >20 years since I was here last, and I will never return. What a shame.
We've come here for years - the place looked shabbier this time. Our server was initially brusque but then attended to everything we needed. My veggie scramble was definitely suffering from shrinkflation. My husband thought his monte cristo should have included turkey. But overall a positive experience. You cant beat this location so close to the airport.
Great (and huge amounts) of food. My waiter recommended the Reuben with a mix of pastrami and corned beef (great call). They have a very reasonable corkage fee ($15). Mondays - live jazz/jam band. Great times!
Probably needs an upgrade but it was
