Pizzeria Delfina - Burlingame

Might have felt more positive about dining here but the 5% employee mandate is a real buzz kill. I don't want to see it or know that I'm paying it. Pay your employees fairly and build it into your prices and business model. What's the point of making it a line item? Who is supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy about it? Can't remember the meal now and it was just 2 hours ago.

Our server, Julia, was amazing and made it a great experience! Very attentive and friendly!

Great lunch on the A ensue, spoiled only by I'll-behaved dogs not supervised properly. One of our guests want Ed a mimosa and we were told you don't have orange juice. That was slightly disappointing.

hostess (Tina) accommodated change in our reservation no hassle. Food excellent as always.

I have been a long time fan/eater of Delfina Pizza. The love affair started in San Francisco and continued on with their Palo Alto location. The pizzas are outstanding, the meatballs are phenomenal and the service is friendly. Burlingame continues that high standard that I have come to expect. My meal and experience was amazing all around. Keep it up!

Our server (wish I knew her name) was extremely courteous. She also had knowledge of the different items which helped us make our dining decisions. Food selections were paced well, wine was various Italian options that were very tasty (we loved the Grenache). It's great to enjoy Neapolitan pizzas, chicken , pastas , espresso drinks in such a lovely environment but also casual if you're not in a “dress up” mood.

Had a nice time. Food is still a touch expensive but the quality and ambiance are quite nice.

Very solid branch of the SF Delfina's properties. Very good service with nice ambiance and excellent food. What's not to like!

Fun night out with friends. Yummy meatball app , salad and pizzas and wine !! Biscotti for dessert. All Perfect.

Second visit to Delfina will be our last. Pizza was very good, service also pleasant and prompt. Then the check arrives and a 5% "owner mandate fee" is added in. I don't even know what that means, but it reeks of core mismanagement where the staff is not paid fairly or the owners just want to skim off the top. Either way, can't support a place that sneaks "mandates" onto a bill under some guise. There are plenty of other great pizzerias in the area that aren't pulling these sneaky up-charges.

The pizza is quite delicious but the ratio of actual pizza to crust is way too low. Two bites of a slice and you're already down to the crust. But the whole pizza is only $22. So you decide. The service staff never really came by to see how we were doing. They only dropped off our food. Fun environment. Lively. But the tables are also too close together. All in all, it's a nice place. Just not awesome, or at least that's how I saw it.

Service was above and beyond. They held our table beyond our reservation time very generously and the team was gracious from end to end.

The pizza at Delfina Pizzeria was great, and the arugula salad was equally amazing—super fresh and flavorful! However, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress only checked on us once, and that was when she brought the check. At that point, we asked for butter, but we were told they didn’t have any, which was hard to believe. While the food is definitely worth it, the service could use some improvement.
