Rasāa in Burlingame is truly a gem — a restaurant that blends elevated Indian flavors with a modern, sophisticated dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the energy feels warm, classy, and thoughtfully curated. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and the entire experience feels like it's been crafted with intention. The food is exceptional. Every dish is vibrant, layered, and beautifully presented — traditional enough to feel familiar, but refined enough to feel special. A must-visit in Burlingame — and in my view, one of the best modern Indian dining experiences on the Peninsula. Highly recommended. I believe their other restaurant is Amaraa.

I had a delicious, innovative satisfying lunch with a friend. We loved every dish and waiter so nicely explained everything. We had the corn fritter dish, the dosa with lamb and the amazing potato sliders. I love every dish on the menu.

Great service, phenomenal food with pricing that matched what they had to offer. Was a busy night, the upstairs was completely full, so it was a tad loud. However, the evening was fantastic due to the quality of the food and the outstanding service provided. We were celebrating a special occasion that we kept to ourselves until the end of the night. Our server asked us why we are out on a Tuesday night and when we told him he quickly got us a comped dessert.

The food was delicious! Service was very good. We had to sit for a couple of dishes but were told there was a delay. We were celebrating a birthday and didn't know there would be a special dessert. It took awhile and we weren't told until we had been waiting for a bit. A heads up would have been appreciated.

All the vegartarian appetizers were amazing! (The gobi, Summer Corn, indian railway peppers all great). The dosa's are just okay.

The halibut and butter chicken were flavorful and delicious, and the service (including the wonderful recommendations) was unparalleled. This is a perfect spot for a romantic special occasion.

Excellent experience. The food was delicious. Traditional dishes had unique takes. e.g. Vada pav came as sliders with gunpowder chutney. Definitely try the fish for the main course! Their service was attentive but not bothersome. Overall, family friendly fine dining experience.

I loved my visit to this restaurant! The vibes are great, perfect service, and most important, AMAZING food. I would highly recommend stopping in to try this restaurant. I went with a party of three and we ordered several items so we could share and try them, everything was delicious. I attached sone photos. The corn thing looked nasty and I was like eww I'm not eating that. Then I tried it and OMG it was so good we ordered a second one.

I’m so used to asking for to go box for the leftover (yes, the food was amazingly good and I really wanted to enjoy it at home). When I asked our waiter for the box, I told him I can box myself. But he’s very politely declined. To my surprise, a few minutes later, he brought back 4 nicely packaged food. I was so happy and impressed. I’ve never experienced such a great service and beautifully decorated & yummy food in Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Will definitely come back.

The Genovese basil dosa was an excellent fusion of Italian and South Indian cuisine. The Rasa sliders were delightful. The kesar pista & rose gulkund kulfi was refreshing. The service and ambience were wonderful.

I am not Indian and taste mediocre for me.. I like the briani + mango lassi and the rest of foods are average.

Chicken appetiser was very good and non-with goat cheese. Very good price was very reasonable. Will be back.

I came to Rasa with high expectations, given its Michelin star and reputation for refined South Indian cuisine. While the presentation was polished and the menu thoughtfully curated, the overall experience left me underwhelmed.

The flavors were pleasant but not as vibrant or layered as I had hoped—dishes felt restrained rather than celebratory. Service was courteous yet somewhat impersonal, and the pacing of the meal lacked flow. Nothing was bad, but nothing truly stood out or lingered in my memory, especially at the price point.

For a restaurant of this stature, I expected more excitement on the palate and a greater sense of hospitality. In the end, it met the Michelin definition of “a very good restaurant in its category,” but for me, it didn’t rise to the level of a destination-worthy experience.

I ordered General Tso’s Cauliflower. The cauliflower was well cooked. The taste was good, a bit salty though.

Rasam mussels were good rasam was very good.

Calamari was very oily, the batter was undercooked. Had to send it back

Lotus root kofta was good. Again, very salty has to request plain yogurt to even eat it.

Andhra chicken appetizer was good in taste. Oil was dripping from spinach pieces.

Over all not a very good experience at a Michelin star place.
