We've been many times over the years since there's no wait compared to the San Mateo sushi places. There are many items that are solid and sometimes a few have been off (spoiled?). It's always overpriced for what you're getting.
The server was very rude to our kids this time. They got shushed for essentially giggling at a level that others were conversing. (My kids have absolutely thrown tantrums before... this wasn't one of them)
This time the lobster tempura (which has been fine in previous visits) was off. We told them that it smelled like ammonium. (Which means that it's likely spoiled). They simply refried it... note this is a place that charges $165 for omakase (that tastes a lot worse than the comparable san mateo sushi places) so I expect better quality and service.
Parking: Less crowded part of burlingame Ave so a bit easier to park
Kid-friendliness: It's not

The sushi was very good, but it still did not justify the high price. Two miso soups and 14 pieces of sushi came to $60 and we were still hungry.

This is my and my husband’s favorite sushi restaurant! This is a must-visit restaurant when friends or family visit. This is a restaurant recognized by everyone! It's a little pricey (but not terribly expensive), but it's really worth it⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really recommend this place! In particular, salmon belly and eel sushi melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. Be sure to order it haha. The place itself is small, but the sushi quality is so good that we go often haha.
This is my go-to sushi place in the bay area! I really recommend this place because once you put the sushi into your mouth.. it melts. Especially I recommend unagi(eel) sushi and salmon belly sushi! The price is a little bit high, but reasonable price - because it is definitely worth it. Also all the employees are so kind and nice here :)
i ordered set B and 4 pieces of tempura shrimp! The sushi set was very tasty and full of flavor as it is. I hope to visit again!

Some of the best sushi I’ve had! We shared a sushi plate and a sashimi plate, as well as tempura shrimp heads and fried fish. The black sesame crème brûlée was an incredible way to finish the meal. Everything was delicious, fresh, and presented beautifully.

Great sushi bar. Sushi is so much better on the west coast.

Truly authentic sushi place, a family owned and operated Japanese restaurant. Try the sashimi salad and the chef’s recommendation. We enjoyed the entire evening and the waiters were very attentive and friendly as well. Will come again!

I’m on a very strict diet for medical reasons which leaves me with a VERY limited assortment of foods I can eat. I can’t eat any seasoning, any sauces, any flavor or else my throat swells up and I choke.Therefor, nigiri is one of the few foods I can eat… except not here because WITHOUT WARNING they prepare their nigiri with wasabi paste (which is traditionally tho rarely used in the preparation of nigiri in my experience. So I paid for my entire order despite being able to eat about half of it.Aside from that, the sushi vinegar was well balanced, the miso soup came hot and delicious (and without a spoon), but the sushi rice did come out a bit soggy. It is the end of the day, tho.

An understated Japanese restaurant, the layout is accommodating, the seating is comfortable, tableware are authentic and elegant. The service is professional and attentive. The menu choices are plenty, every dish was delicious. Try the beef tongue, duck and eggplant along with the garlic edamame.
