We went to this charming looking city center restaurant in its last month of business. It had a great selection of wine, and they were all at half-priced for liquidation. However, the food was mediocre. The menu didn't represent that of a tapas bar, just another Mediterranean restaurant. Very limited selection, nothing tapas-tasting like variety and size (just "double size me" appetizers to share) that was really not very good. Some "tapas" dishes were standard Americana, not common in Spain. The nice waiter told us that the owner is closing shop because he was tired of the restaurant business. The food showed. My wife and I just came back from Andalucía, and went to this restaurant to talk about our memorable vacation with an out-of-town friend. Thought Pulpo would be a good choice. We did enjoy our visit over a great bottle of wine, but not the dinner.
Excellent food and attentive service. If you're looking for a quiet place with great food on Broadway, this should be on your short list.
Ate here for lunch and it wasn't crowded or the noise level was low. Casual atmosphere with nice staff. Food was just ok, most notably the shrimp was way way overcooked in appetizer and pasta. The kale salad was good but lacked enough dressing to moisten the large kale leaves. The octopus was tender and the empanada was flakey. I'd go back and try other things at some point but not a standout place on first visit.
Love the flatbread and hummus and wine choices and atmosphere perfect for a friend luncheon
Not authentic at all—I won't be returning. While the service was actually quite good, the wine pricing was unreasonable. Starting the evening with a $60 bottle that retails for $9.99 set the wrong tone. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem the experience—mediocre at best and lacking any real connection to Spanish cuisine. Overall, very disappointing.
Wonderful little spot on Broadway in Burlingame. Great small plates, sangria and wine. The entree portions are generous, salads are perfect. Staff are so friendly and service is excellent. Great casual, neighborhood eatery.
Our waiter, Sinan, was absolutely amazing- very attentive, knew the menu, and professional. My husband ordered a burger and loved it. I had a hot cabbage salad which was delicious. The cheese & charcuterie was good and served with ham and carmelized onions which were yummy. The “aged Gouda” was actually smoked Gouda. I suggest they dim the lights further than they were dimmed on 16 Feb, 2025.
good food and service ... tapas plate and crab cakes were a great combination followed by sticky toffee pudding.
We had a great time celebrating my birthday. The live music was a nice surprise and very enjoyable too. Server was friendly and took great care of us. Food, especially the appetizers were tasty . Overall, Pulpo is a fun neighborhood restaurant and wine bar! We will return!
Lovely neighborhood gem. We enjoyed our dinner with tasty grilled octopus as an appetizer followed by my turkey burger and my husband's risotto with duck. Both dishes were delicious and plenty. The selection of wines is amazing and I would highly suggest this restaurant to everyone. We will be back. Plus, they have a full lunch special for only $25.00. Can't get better than that!

Our party of 4 had a fabulicious evening at Pulpo! Great variety of scrumptious Spanish/pan-Mediterranean taste treats. Service was excellent, friendly, unrushed. And the wine selections were very well-curated. Salud!
Hip and trendy tapas and wine menu with good selection of both. We shared a special tapas and a flatbread. The flatbread was not as crispy as we would have liked. Perhaps too many toppings? Or they were rushed with a large party in the dining room? The wait staff was very attentive, and we enjoyed the evening.
Appreciate they have a good variety of foods on the menu. Good balance of appetizers, entrees, salads & tapas. No complaints, the place good ambiance, the seating is comfortable, good attentive servers. Street parking is easy. Definitely return for it being tapas restaurant with good menu options.
We had another great meal at Pulpos! My husband and I split the house salad, bbq flatbread bread appetizer and the seafood special entree. Salad fresh and full of goodies. Flatbread had a lot of chicken, peppers etc, ended up boxing half of it. The seafood specials are always very good and Saturday night was as delicious as the others we've had before. And, the presentation was beautiful! It was grilled scallops and shrimp on bamboo skewers over jasmine rice, so good.
Service was excellent. Our server continually checked on us and worked the bar although it was busy. All throughout, she was very friendly and quick to bring us whatever we needed. The Grilled Pulpo was the highlight of the menu.
